There could be other possibilities causing the treadmill to stop but one of the most common issues is excessive wear on the belt/deck.

When a running belt has excessive wear, it creates a lot of friction which causes the drive motor to work harder. When the drive motor works harder it will start overheating. If the belt is not lubricated periodically, it will ruin the deck, the drive motor, and cause other electrical problems such as tripping the breaker [after a while, the circuit breaker on the treadmill will need to be replaced.

It is suggested to lubricate the belt every month. At this point, you may need to replace both your deck and your running belt

SOURCE: Treadmill stops running

I had simillar problem. I have proform 830 QT. My trademill stops after 10 minutes of work out. Everything shuts down and the circuit breaker pops out.

Root cause:- no lubrication under walking belt. Caused the moter to over work (over heat) and hence te circuit breaker popped out to prevent blowing of motor.

Solution:- Apply the lubricant under walking belt and adjust the belt tension if needed.

Back ground:- Contact proform customer service at 1-888-533-1333 (http://www.iconservice.com/proform/faq_tread.html) and buy the treadmil cleaning kit or lubricant kit which comes with a wand for easy application. It may cost you 35 dollars including shipping. If you need to fix your treadmil right away, use NAPA silicon spray 8300. Proform actually tells do not use it as it may damage your belt. However the specialst who came to fix my treadmill just sprayed it and collected 100 dollars. When I called proform they told me lubricating will fix it and its my mistake to not trust them. I guess they knew exactly what they were saying.

SOURCE: I have a Nautilus Bowflex 5 series treadmill.

I will have to check the error code but sounds like a heat problem. When you get too much friction between the walk belt and the deck it builds a lot of heat which creates more drag on the motor. This causes the motor to overheat which in turn usually shuts the machine off. You can let it cool and go back exercising until the cycle repeats. If this sounds like your issue, try lubricating the walking belt. If it's not in bad shape it should make a difference. The machine should run longer. 10-15 is pretty quick though so it make take a couple of application of lubricant. The belt may need replacing if the need for lubricant becomes too regular.

Test very well the controller motor +main motor+Transformer, of course loose cables, bad contact, corroded cables or contact. Tight everything and clean for dust.

Treadmill starts out fine, then stops after a few minutes under load - goes right back up to speed as soon as I step off the belt.his is an "iFit. com EKG2v"

The machine is struggling under load, it’s either a really badly damaged running belt with no lubrications. Or, a motor on the way out. Or, you are exceeding the weight limit of the treadmill.

My treadmill runs for 15 minutes than stops for a minute than start up for 10 minutes than stops, than start up

It is designed to be able to be restarted after about 5 minutes. When it stops, wait 5 to 10 minutes, reset the circuit breaker. Of course you still have the same problem.

The motor contoller board is most likely overheating do to friction, so you're going to need to lubricate the walking belt(this should actually be done every 6 months) you can order a kit on ebay for about 15-20 bucks, it's called " lube n walk ", and no, I don't sell it, but I use it on the treadmills I service.

I recomend you loosen the belt one full turn on each side before you lube the belt, apply the lube and run the treaadmill for one mile without anyone on it and then let it rest for a while.

After that give it a try. if the belt slips, then tighten it back up one turn, but don't over tighten it.

I also recomend using a single outlet surge supressor.

That should solve your problem.

Screen states Lube Belt , do not have user Manual , Where are lubrication points and what type "lube" can I use ?

hi,

It is necessary to lubricate your treadmill running deck every six months or 150 miles to maintain optimal performance. Once the treadmill reaches 150 miles, the console will display the message "LUBE" or "LUBE BELT". The treadmill will not operate while the message is showing. Hold Stop for 5 seconds to suspend message for 5 miles. Your treadmill came with a bottle of lubricant which can be used for two applications. If you need lubricant, contact Horizon Fitness. Only use lubricant provided by Horizon Fitness.

• Turn off the treadmill with the on/off switch, then unplug the power

cord at the wall outlet.

• Loosen both the rear roller bolts. (For best results, place two removable

marks on both sides of the frame and note roller position). Once the

belt is loosened, take the bottle of lubricant and apply it to the entire

top surface of the running deck. Tighten both rear roller bolts

(matching up the marks for proper position) to original position. After

you have applied lubricant, plug in the power cord, insert the safety

key, start the treadmill and walk on the belt for two minutes to spread

the lubricant.

• Lubricate the air shocks with Teflon based spray.
• Once lubrication is complete, reset the console by pressing and holding 'STOP' and Speed '+' buttons for 5 seconds.

It stops after 1hour and 40 minutes of running how do I get it so I can go longer?

A treadmill will shut down from to much friction which is due to high motor current because the walkbelt and deck are not properly lubricated. I would recommend applying .5 oz of lubricant on the deck every 3-6 months or 100 hours of use. This will extend your treadmill's life many years.

Horizon treadmill won't start running

The manual said that after lubricating the deck, press Stop and Speed buttons together for 5 minutes and this will reset the lubrication message and the treadmill should work.

Kettler treadmill "silikon wartung"

Hi eirik,

Your treadmill needs lubricating.
Get a an aerosol with silicone lubricant and spray it under the belt & on top of the ground board.
Then turn the belt by hand (treadmill switched off!) until you've lubricated the whole belt.
Next leave the machine running for 5 minutes at 5 KM/H (3 M/H) without any load on it.

That should do the trick.
