Ok so i have an Apex pf-2050 20" color tv. The blue screen is blue the menu words come up yellow and red, but all the programs i get with my antani and the video from my dvd player all show up in black and white. i never had a remote for it and the menu button options don't give me an option to restore color... anyone have any ideas on why it shows everything in black and white, and how to fix it?
no because if you READ my first post i stated "programs i get with my antani and the video from my dvd player all show up in black and white"no because if you READ my first post i stated "programs i get with my antani and the video from my dvd player all show up in black and white"

Some newer TVs do not have the traditional "yellow" video input, known as an "AV" connection. Even without that input, you should be able to use the standard three-color Wii AV Cable that came with the system.
What to Do:
Look for "component" inputs on your TV. These connections have a row of five differently-colored inputs (green, blue, and red for video, white and red for audio). If you have more than one set of component inputs, it's the first set that generally works with standard AV cables. Look for a set that has a green input with yellow around it, or the word "video" just above or below it.
Plug the yellow end of the Wii A/V cable into this green "Y" input. Plug the white end into the audio "L" and the red into the audio "R." Leave the blue and second red holes open.
Turn on your Wii console and set your television to the input select being used.
If you are seeing the image from the Wii in black and white, try the following to get the image in color:
Cycle through your television's input channels (usually with the "Input Select" or "Source" button on your TV's remote control) to find the input select that has the image in color.
If you're only finding the image in black and white, you may need to switch the setting of the input select from a component signal to a standard AV signal. This can be done by:
An on screen menu option. This is often accessed by using the "Menu" button on the remote.
A button on the remote that switches between the standard and component signals. These can be labeled such things as "AV" or "Video."
OK, here is the breakdown on whet you are doing wrong.
Video 1 - Composite - Video - Yellow White - Audio In - Right Red - Audio in - Left
Video 2 - Components - HD - RGB = Red, Green, Blue Video - Red - Red Colors Green - Green Colors Blue - Blue Colors White - Audio In - Right
Red - Audio in - Left
Your GameCube will only work on Video 1, unless you buy an HD (Component cable). You will need to buy HD cables for your device connected to Video 1 to work on video 2. I will assume it is a DVD player. This is a high definition cable to produce a better picture. Let me know if you do not completely understand

Greets - You are mixing cables up. You need to connect the Dazzle yellow, red, white cables to the yellow, red white cables on the TV. You can't plug standard video/audio cables into the component (red, blue, green) connectors on the TV.
take a look at this diagram, just pretend the devices on the left are all connectors on your TV.

OK no problem here. I can help. First reconnect the DVD Player to the tv using the Compoment cables. Match Green to Green,Red to Red and Blue to Blue.. If this is done correctly then you will have normal looking picture. If the picture looks like it is missing the RED color then switch both Red cables. The pix should look normal. Then connect the RED and White audio cables to the audio inputs . Now the Pinkish color is a result of the DVD Player not being set to the "Progressive" setting in the DVD Player Menu. It will help to connect a set of COMPOSITE cables from the DVD Player to the TV's Composite Input. Those are the Yellow,Red and White inputs on both the tv and the DVD Player. This will allow you to see the DVD player menu in case you cannot see the menu while in the Component input. The Pinkish picture should go to a Normal picture.
Are you trying to plug in the yellow, red ,and white cables into blue,
green, and red slots? If you are you cannot because those are for HD
inputs only
1) These Apex players can handle multiple sytems (NTSC/PAL) Is it possible it is switched in the wrong mode?
Follow the jumpy picture and enter the menu to see if it is switched in the PAL mode (You may have to follow the user manual and try to look at the screen carefully while following to menu flow)..
Some APEX units have a button on the remote to switch the systems.
2) I have also seen some TV's that will not handle the progressive scan mode... Try switching in the menus.
good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code
from DVD back part:
yellow = video out
red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)
Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless) Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)
where to connect from TV screen.
Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .
Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code
RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)
then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)
once decided which INPUT to connect the player. ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)
now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:
RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.
Then why do my DVDS play in black and white as well??
no because if you READ my first post i stated "programs i get with my antani and the video from my dvd player all show up in black and white"
Why don't you get a remote control for you to get full control of the menu. Before we go for troubleshooting.
