Tv will not come on . It sounds like it is powering up but the screen stays black. Power button says Timer Lamp

    Standby/ Temp

Tv makes a clicking noise, like when it is turned off & on.

I have the Samsung HCP 4353 WX/XAC and had the projection lamp replaced to correct a color and focus problem, and ever since has the problem of having to reset the TV by pulling the power plug from the wall, sometimes several times during a movie making this a real nusance if you have a fix to this problem please email me at [email protected]

I just called 1-800-samsung & choose the parts dept.
For the replacement lamp it cost $149.99 plus tax & shipping .
My total was 167.08 for Fl. You give them the lamp code ( red sticker on the side of the tv) , they send it out 5day shipment.Local tv repair services can install it for an installation fee. This will save money apposed to ordering through a tv repair shop who charges an order part fee plus etc...

OTHERWISE- THIS SET MAY HAVE THE DREADED 1500UF POWER CAPACITOR ISSUE WHICH ARE EASY TO SEE IF YOU CAN ACCESS THE MAIN POWER PC AND VISUALLY CHECK FOR 'POPPED' CAPACITORS ON THAT PC. JOE TV

TV goes off intermittently

sounds like an intermittent shut down which is heat related. some part , maybe one stuck on a heatsink is warming up and running too much current triggering shutdown.
to find it you can tell what is shutting down with a voltmeter, or you can heat suspected parts with a blow dryer to speed the shutdown .. or freeze spray to see if it goes beyond your shutdown time.

Samsung HL-R5067W "Powering Down"

the hlr series had a few problem with intermittent turning off. one was the lamp door cover switch, the other was the thermostat.. neither one is very costly and a good tech should be able to replace bothe parts at the same time..

Tv shuts down

does the main board have the flyback on it? if so the yokes or CRTs can be intermittently shorting which in turn triggers your shut-down.
turning it off or unplugging just resets the shut down circuit.
