Check your settings button. Most remotes have a video source button...if this button has been pressed, then the tv is probably trying to show you the video screen. On my remote, pushing the button 3 times brings it to the dvd screen. Pushing it twice brings it to cable tv...etc.
Your button may be labelled as something other than video source.

Blue Screen
no those tvs came with a black otuer screen that have rough ridges . If your screen is blue, someone may have replaced it with a dark colored plastic. You can get replacement screens at the following link, They are exspensive though.
