Have you been tried to dis able the supply going to the inverter board for the back light which may have bad parts causing the supply to drop. by the way is there any blinking lights after it turns off? it will tell you the error either in the power supply, inverter board or at the main board.

SOURCE: Polaroid LCD TV FLM-3232 turns on, then turns off

It sounds like you have tried everything I have been able to find on the web......Have you Registered your TV with Polaroid yet? Because if you haven?t you can make up the few months your past on the warrantee.....I would go and Register and then call on the warrantee.....it?s a bit fishy but it works...In my opinion they should just warrantee it for you. (being so close to the end an all) ....I have had great success when I have call the manufactory directly to see what they can do for me......don?t talk to just any one ask for the manager of customer service or the manager in the warrantee department...in the very begging of your call.... here is there information if you didn?t have it already Regional Headquarters: Polaroid Corporation Corporate Headquarters 300 Baker Avenue Concord, MA 01742-2131 Phone: +1 781-386-2000 Good Luck and be assertive but not an *** on the phone.......I find that when I?m just strait up honest with them it all works out....If it doesn?t try the Registration thing?Let me know if this helped cbinny1

SOURCE: how to disassemble polaroid TLA-01911C lcd tv

1) Take the foot off the stand and with a long philips screwdriver remove the single screw that is at the top of the leg (inside leg). Then with the tv facing down lift straight up on the leg.
2) remove the two screws comming from the back of the tv along the bottom edge.
3) With the tv face down on a soft surface ( towel, bedspread, ect).
4) Be carefull with this step it this tv gave me some difficulty and I am experianced with this proceedure. Too much pressure or forcing it too hard will break your case. The back of the tv has a lip which inserts into the face. The face has tabs that lock into slots in the lip of the back. Carefully pry between the face and back pannel (I used my thumbnail and a 1" plastic putty knife.) and slide along the seam until the locking tabs pop loose. Continue sliding your instrument along the seam until all tabs are loose.
5) The back of the tv lifts off of the face leaving all electronics in the face of the tv.

That gets you into the tv. what you do from there is up to you, Good luck;)

This will give more diagnostic flowcharts etc. Could be useful in the future also.

SOURCE: POLAROID TLA-04011C does not turn on

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

SOURCE: TLA-04011C dead, red LED on

Why do questions like this one show as having "Solutions"? Does anyone else find it irritating when you click on all the "solved" questions only to find a bunch of dead ends? I waste so many hours of my life clicking these damn things. Once in a while you'll find a good solution with in depth, straight forward information. The rest of the time it's just a bunch of uneducated guesses or people trying to bump it.
I don't contribute to what I just spoke of, let me advise the closest I've come yet to fixing this TV... RED LED, NO PICTURE = Bad Main board. I've changed out a dozen or so caps that read high for ESR. Most of them were the 220uF/25v. I'm going to revisit this board again as I neglected to test the tiny little electrolytic 10uF, 22uF variety. From there, I plan to chase the voltage around the board and see where it stops. If you're not insane like me, and you would like an easy solution, buy a new main board. But I'm crazy, and I'm going to whip this bastard TV, I promise.
If you don't hear from me soon, just know that I fought my hardest in battle, and in doing so, I died with honor. ...even though I left a load in my shorts from getting electrocuted by the Polaroid.

I have a Polaroid TLA-01511B LCD TV that goes blank shortly after power up. I have replaced all of the 1000uf and 470uf 25v 105 deg. caps on the power / inverter board. I still have the same problem. What...

Most of the people thinks, and trusts, that a TV is working only with capacitors. Not such. Don't you see any other components on board, other than capacitors?
With your TV, a shut-down occurs after it has switched ON; means, there is something shorted component/s on the other board, than the power board. Actually, the power board trends to start, but a short circuit to any other board prevents it to stay ON, and this is a protection. The protection circuit built in; detects this short circuit, and shuts down the power supply, and thus preventing further damages.
It will be best for you to contact any service technician in this case, because, it sounds that you're not sound in electronics. OK.

Optiquest q20wb Screen goes blank after powering off

I had the exact same problem. The screen went black and the green light flashed. I went ahead and took the monitor apart (scary) and took a look at the power supply circuitry. I saw 6 suspicious electrolytic caps on the board. Three 470uF 25V 105 degree C caps, two 1000uF 10V 105 degree C caps, and one 470uF 10V 105 degree cap. They all appeared to be slightly bulging and one even had a small hole in the top. I decided to replace all of them. The parts cost a little more than 5 bucks. I couldn't find a 470uF 10V cap at my local store so I bought a 16 V version instead, which is fine. Anyway, after replacing all 6 caps, the monitor works as good as new.

Polaroid 37"

The reason for the first failure is use of very poor quality or LOW voltage caps. The 35 volt Radio Shack caps will work fine and will give no future trouble.Too low a voltage rating or poor manufacturing leads to leakage and drying out of electrolytic caps.35 volt versus 10 volt is a higher rating and, within reason, will not cause a problem. For technical reasons don't go extremely high(such as 150 volts). This might cause a problem down the line.
