The speed pot needs to be checked for a loose connection. If it looks good then the pot needs replaced.

I replaced the speed pot and throttle pot now my rascal 235 drives but only about half speed

Sounds like one of them has incorrect values. You need to check the resistance marked on the original speed and throttle pots, with the new ones. Generally a throttle pot is 5Kohms and 20 or 200 ohms for the speed pot.

Rascal scooter

Could be the Throttle Pot or Speed Pot. The levers will change the resistance of the throttle pot. The speed pot feeds the throttle pot.
Move the speed pot while pushing the lever forward. If it works could be the speed pot has a dead spot on it. Also check wires loose and a mechanical issue with the throttle pot and the springs.

I have a silver leader 4 mobility scooter with a dynamic ds 100 unit under the rear end the status light is flashing 7 times which from what i have been able to find out is the wig wag potentiometre have...

hi,
ok so 7 flashes is a speed pot related error, you need to make sure that the speed pot is in the central position , look under the stem and you should see a cross head , now that should be straight not at slight angle, without you touching the throttle lever , if you have a meter disconnect the pot and take a resistance reading, it should show about 2.5K - using the centre tap , if it is a 5K pot fitted , in fact for that controller it should be a 5K pot , please check the terminal connections on the controller, good fitting and clean.
Take leave feedback.

Pot speed and throttle speed beep code is happening. how to get it going again.?

This is a very typical error code when the throttle potentiometer is out of neutral at start up. This is caused by wear or hitting or bending the throttle lever.
In my experience the best way to adjust the throttle pot is to clean it. I usually replace both the throttle potentiometer and speed potentiometer when they fail, cause an error beep, or they have dead spots. You can carefully remove these components by removing the covers and following the service procedures in the service manual. Very carefully take them apart to clean the wiper on the potentiometer with electronic spray contact cleaner (this is not in the service manual; use extreme care and do it delicately).
You can adjust the spring tension on the throttle potentiometer with careful bending.
You can first try to zero out the throttle pot by hand (even it out) and start the scooter to clear the error code. With your left hand adjust the lever left or right and with your right hand turn the scooter on. By trial and error you may be able to get this to work.
In both circumstances you will wind up replacing both components anyway and the fixes I have described are only temporary. Hope this helps.

Go Go Scooter travels in reverse, but when going forward it comes to an abrupt stop every few seconds. Everything else appears to work normally. Any ideas?

csr4 Well it could be the throttle pot or the speed control pot My leanings is toward the throttle pot since it works in reverse with the speed pot not being changed but not forward. when you are just changing the position of the throttle to forward thereby changing the pot wiper and getting the error. Contact Pride about the problem at 1-800-800-8586 and ask for Tech support for scooters and explain your problem to them. I hope this helps

Scooter shows "speed pot error". How do I fix that?

You will more than likely need a new speed pot but some are connected to the throttle pot as well so it could be that which is at fault. Could also be wiring or worst case, control box but this is unlikely.
