My front loading duet washer will spin, complete the cycle etc. when it's empty...but when I have clothes inside it tries to spin...but can't seem to turn over. All lights come on and it flashes error code F25.
We checked all the plugs underneath, cleaned out the filter and the problem still happens.
If you remove three screws along the bottom front the bottom panel comes off. On the inside, on the right wall, is a plastic bag with a paper labeled "FOR SERVICE TECHNICIAN ONLY". This has a section titled "FAILURE/ERROR DISPLAY CODES" with all the error codes along with an explanation and recommended procedure. For F25, this is:
DRIVE MOTOR TACHOMETER ERROR
If the control is unable to properly detect motor speed, the machine shuts down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door unlocks after 3 Minutes.
Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and the power cord are removed. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check drive motor tachometer resistance. It should be approx. 115 ohms. 4. Check wire harness connections between the drive motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU). 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations.
I got this working for many on this site :)

Check model # f25 not valid code for 9150. on newer duets f25 is for motor tachometer error. control did not detect spin speed. in this case sounds like motor burned out. replace motor and motor control unit.
Hi dustyroads6, my wp duet washer is doing the exact same thing. It spins fine when empty but hesitates when clothes are added and stops with the F25 error during the wash cycle. We replaced the motor and still no luck. Did you ever get yours figured out? If so please share the solution!Hi dustyroads6, my wp duet washer is doing the exact same thing. If clothes are still wet this mean there is still water in the drum and the pressure switch is not switch in empty position. The fault should be sought in the draining phase. Could be: drain pump ....
Careful of overloading the front-loading washers. Too much of this will result in the bearings in the drum to go bad. When this happens, the rpms on the drum slow down due to belt slack. You can only see this with the back off of the unit and in the middle of the cycle. They do not sell replacement bearings...you'll have to buy the whole drum (bearings pressed inside) and for 1/2 the cost of a new washer. I hate front-loaders. I'll never buy one again.
A FEW THINGS TO TRY FIRST RUN YOUR WASHER EMPTY ON THE HOT WATER SETTING UNLESS YOU HAVE A CLEANING CYCLE THEN USE THAT THERES ALSO SOME NEW PRODUCTS OUT THAT YOU CAN USE TO CLEAN YOUR WASHER OUT BUT FIRST TRY THIS ITS FREE , ALSO CHECK YOUR DRAIN PUMP AND THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING CLOGGED IN IT LIKE A SOCK AND LASTLY CHECK THE AGITATOR BELT TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT WORN SEND ME A UPDATE WE'LL GET IT FIXED DONT WORRY
old duets have nut on rear pulley that becomes loose. remove rear panel and tighten nut. check while spinning by hand if pop is felt. if it rotates smoothly then you may need new shocks on tub
A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.======= It's noisy
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
Shaking is caused by poor distribution of clothes causing an imbalance. Try the machine empty. If it works well, be aware that you'll have to redistribute your load to stop the shakes.
