I am not sure what I need to do to update my GPS. because it does not show new address like our Home that was built 5 years ago. We just bought this Magellan Roadmate 1200 1 1/2 months ago new.

Mapping companies take a little while to get there new data into systems so a NEW map could out as far 2-3 years. What you could do i go into tools > settings > map > info and check what map version is installed.
You will only get a free update on a new device if you install tomtom home on your computer and login withing the first 2-3 months of purchasing your device. Also, if you purchased a device that is "refurbished" or "recertified" then you do not get this free update and your map can be up to about a year and a half old. In this case, you would have to purchase a map update. To update you will have to install TomTom Home on your computer (download from TomTom.com) and login. You can typically purchase one update for about 45 USD or purchase a year of updates for just a little more (like 59.99 USD). A "year of updates" gives you an updated map each quarter for one year. I don't know that I would have bought a TomTom for use outside of North America or the UK. Sorry.
How long has it been since you've updated the maps on the unit? You may have gotten a message stating your maps were over a year old, and recommending you update them. The address in Tyler may have been too new for the unit if the maps have not been updated recently also. If this is not the case, you should be aware that some addresses may show as being in a different city due to ZIP code status. For instance, you may know an address to be in a certain town/city, but it may show as being in a neighboring town in the unit as they share a ZIP code. If you cannot find an address in your GPS, go back to the beginning and re-enter the address. When it comes to the city, however, try, "Search All". See if this helps.
The problem is that your maps are out of date. This can happen pretty quickly in growing areas. The problem is that it is quite expensive to purchase new maps for your device and mostly cheaper to purchase a newer device on sale. If you are handy and don't mind risking your device you can search on the web and find ways to put free software that uses free maps from sources like openstreetmap.org
Sometimes these will go into demo mode for no apparent reason. You can access the diagnostics screen by holding the map/music button while powering up. Be careful which buttons you press in this mode - select only the on-screen buttons, not the hard-buttons as they adjust brightness and contrast. Select the correct operating mode and power the unit off, then on.
The map they are using for your GPS unit is incorrect. You can report the error to Navteq but until they release a new map update for your unit.. you will just have to deal with it.
I am not sure if there is an upgrade CD or not. I looked briefly around on google but was unable to find one. That doesn't mean there isn't one, though. But, I do know that if they are pretty new places, they most likely will not show up anyway. I know a neighborhood that was built about 3 years ago (still not finished though) and still none of the streets or anything show up on map quest, google maps, or on any GPS's.
