What you refer to as the "circle" is most likely the low voltage battery symbol and flashing means to change the batteries. The wrench means fault which just goes along with changing the batteries.

Look underneath with a flash light the electronic console has on each side 2 allen bolts holding the console to the up rights.A cable is also going into the upper display first must be disconnected by gently prying off that console cable cover. Remove the bolts I believe with a 6 mm allen wrench and that should do it. reverse that order when reassembling.
