No display The TV is on, There is sound but no picture. I know it is not the source because the TV Menu and source indicator (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, Component, ...) does not even dispolay. I can notice the LCD panel is on as it goes from a "ligthed" black to completely black when I turn the set on and off. I can also notice a momentary difference in brightness when I press the source or menu button.

Thanks Guest... Please do let me know as I also have a repair man coming 9-14-07.

On another note, I am very disappointed in the Samsung customer service. I am 35 days out of warranty and they wouldn't do anything to help me.

I had the same problem. Unplugged the TV for about 4 hours and when I plugged it back in everything reset and it works fine. I stillh ave a service call open under my extended warranty. I am still going to have the service member come out and look at it anyway.

Well I just joined in the world of broken Samsung's. Died Feb. 1st. I had three month additional warranty, but of course it died the day after. Same problem, no video, just audio.

However if you call 1-800-522-7341. This is the number for Executive Customer Relations. They extended my warranty and contacted the repair center for me. Probably won't be fixed by Superbowl Sunday though. I expressed my disbelief that after 15 months a 2400 set can die. I have to call back on Monday for additional help.

The technicians arrived today. They opened up the tv and to my surprise there were 2 green boards similiar to a PC motherboard. They swapped one at a time and tested the tv which turned out to reveal that the 2 boards were fine which only leaves the problem to be the lcd display itself. I was told that this part was still under warranty from the manufacturer since the lcd tv is only a few months old to begin with. I was also told it would take 4-6 weeks to order the part and then they would reschedule to install it. Lets see what happens next. I will keep you posted. Hope this helps my model tv is Samsung model LNS4692DX/XAA

Under menu, option make sure that you haven't selected audion only and that input select is on the first or second options,(not the third one). If you can't even see the menu, then your connections are probably bad. Hope this helps, Mark

You have to turn up the volume to 38+ in order to hear the TV, when you use to be able to hear it at 10, is there a control board that goes out and what Is the name of it?

Hi Geoff, I hope I can help you with this. If you are using an accessory device (DVD, DVR) check cables to see that they are secure and if device has audio out option that it is set correctly. Also check to see that Video and Audio cables are connected to matching inputs on your set.
If you are using DVI to HDMI you will need to use a separate digital audio cable. DVI cables do not carry audio signal. After attaching the audio cable if you still do not hear sound you may need to set Digital Audio In. To do so:
  1. Press Menu Button on remote.
  2. Press the cursor ring down to highlight SETUP.
  3. Press the cursor ring left to enter SETUP menu.
  4. Press the cursor ring down to highlight SOURCE.
  5. Press the cursor ring left to enter SOURCE menu.
  6. Press the cursor ring down to highlight DIGITAL AUDIO IN.
  7. Press the cursor ring down to select the source you want to associate Digital Audio with. HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 in this case. You might need a software update also.
The latest software solves the issues below:
    1. TV (Plasma 42" and 50") will not turn ON/shut off itself and Red LED blinks 4- times. Recover if main switch on/off.
    2. 37" LCD full white screen appear when upgrade software.
    3. Some channels not available after turn ON.
    4. Delta volume changes, not remembered.
    5. Preferred channel changes, not remembered.
    6. Green or yellow static (sometime snowy) on HDMI picture.
    7. Picture and sound loss for 5 to 10 sec (green LED is still ON) and back to normal.
    8. Audio loss in all inputs and can be recovered when main switch ON and OFF.
    9. TV set turn ON by itself/ green LED light up and goes off when set is ON.
    10. Intermittent audio loss in NTSC RF channel.
    11. Crack sound with high input signal.
    12. Include the possibility to download the rating table (RRT5 capability) for digital programs.
    13. No video/ no picture with sound.
    14. Intermittent On-Screen Menu pop up by itself and can be removed by pressing the 'MENU' button.
    15. Channel information display too long.
    16. Improvement on scramble channel.
How to check the current software version on my TV set?
    1. Press 'MENU' button on remote control to display the on-screen menu.
    2. Select TV MENU and press the cursor right.
    3. Select INSTALLATION and press the cursor right.
    4. Select SOFTWARE UPGRADE and press cursor right.
    5. Select CURRENT SOFTWARE INFO to display the current software version on your TV set.
    6. If the TV software version is lower than the version posted on the website means your TV set needs to be upgraded.
    7. Follow the instruction in the user manual or Firmware Upgrade Readme file on how to upgrade your software.
Where can I find the latest software for my TV set?
The Firmware Upgrade Software and Readme File documents can be found on the Philips support website. Refer to the SOFTWARE section.

I hooked up my soundbar using the HDMI out (TV) port from bar to HDMI in port on my Philips TV power is on bar however I can't get any sound out of bar. But just audio cables worked what to do?

OK, If its the Samsung Sound Bar, this item should have 2 HDMI input, 1 3.5mm audio jack input and a digital audio input (fiber optic). Since there are various input, the remote control should have a source button, or it will probably read O/A Input, this is to change thru the inputs from the sound bar. If you connected your TV HDMI output to HDMI 1 from the Sound Bar, then press the source button to reach HDMI 1, maybe it will be display with a different name, like sound 1, or DIGI.1 Give it a shot and let me know in the comment section. Good luck.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

How to connect my HTC evo to a hdmi tv?

Follow these steps:
1. Need a HDMI-to-Micro HDMI cable ($4-$8). Do not pay $30 at brand stores.
2. Connect the Micro HDMI to your phone.
3. Make sure that TV is off. Then connect the HDMI end of the cable to any available HDMI port on your TV/Display.
4. Reboot/Restart your EVO. This is a must do step for phone to recognize the HDMI connection. (Neither HTC nor Sprint were aware of this step.). On reboot/restart, you will see a HDMI logo on top left corner of your EVO. This lets you know that EVO is detecting the HDMI cable connection.
5. Turn on your TV. Select the matching Input (Signal Source) for your cable from the phone.

Now is time to what your pictures or MPEG video clips from your phone. Sorry no Netflix, Hulu, UVerse or any other non-MPEG format videos. However, you can play videos shot with EVO or play YouTube Videos.

For watching pictures/photos use "Gallery" app in your list of apps. Select the picture or pictures then from Menu select Slideshow.

I get no picture when I connect the set box HDMI cable to the TV

The default connection is usually HDMI 1. The possibility of the cable being defective, or the box sending a signal out need to be determined.

Set up your connections, then turn on your TV.

Try using different HDMI hookups.

Bring a different video source to get the TV to display.

See if you can bring up the TV menu to select an input to connect to.

The possibility is that the HDCP handshake could not have happend correctly and hence the issue. Try to connect to different HDMI input of TV from Cable box. If possible change the resolution of cable box and check video

When i first turn on the tv it displays the ''Sanyo'' logo and then goes black. I am still getting sound though, but no picture. Sanyo DP19649

First make sure your HDMI cable is connected from the Cable to the TV; then on the TV Menu check the input; should have a choice of items like, Air, Cable, HDMI, Aux...if you do have an HDMI cable connection, select HDMI and indicate which port #; it could be listed like HDMI/DTV 1 or HDMI/DTV 2; good luck

Issues Displaying picture from HDMI upconversion

I've posted this other places. Hope it helps.

My HT-S6100 had a similar problem with my DVD player and some times with my Cable/DVR box. The signal wasn't getting received at the TV. So, first I changed the input jacks my DVD and Cable box are plugged into on the receiver (e.g. from HDMI 1 & HDMI 3 to HDMI 2 & HDMI 4). Second, I reprogrammed the Input Assignments to match (e.g. HDMI in 2&4). Third, I deleted any Input Assignments that weren't applicable. For instance, I'm only using HDMI connections, but there were Digital and Component Input Assignments programmed in. When I say I deleted them, I actually set them to "----" (just scroll through the options and you'll find this.) Finally, I turn on my video/audio sources (PS3 in your case) and let them load/warm up before I turn on my Onkyo receiver. It seems to be working. Good luck.

No sound from tv

look for a hdmi input via the menu/ video /source button on the remote.[different manufactuers list them differently] if you have multiple input selections on the display, scroll thru each one, wait 2or3 seconds between each input and see if your picture comes on.also check the hdmi connection

LG 42LC2D-EC NO SOUND ON HDMI

your setting for source of the audio is probably defaulted back to original setting in receiver. reassign audio input and problem may go away. it sounds like its not in the tv. i assume you have a receiver and are not trying to listen with speakers in tv. is this correct? if you are not using an amplifier, you may need to go to the tv menu to make sure the audio source is selected as the hdmi input. should take a bit to read thru the manual, but it ought to show you how to accomplish the correct settings.
let me know if it does not.
good luck
