hello chevi1981..what can happen is if whoever installed your system did not run your speaker wires properly eg if they have worn through and touching metal or a screw through the wires ,it can blow the audio ics in unit resulting in no sound.all these high powered units have above ground circuits in the audio stage .to check ,hook up a separate speaker direct to your unit, separate wiring ,if no sound, will most likely be the intergrated circuits..these will have to be changed by a tech as cd players are a beast to work on,also your 2 speaker wires should not touch one another.with your sec code if your have a removable face you may not have a code ,as removing face is your security .hope this helps

No ur radio is fine to fit the wiring harness into ur dodge the wiring has been crossed so it wont work, if u go 2 the Kenwood US site and down load the KDC MP 228 manual it has a good wiring dirgram and with a bit of work u can work out what goes where :0 Hope this helps

Try holding down BUTTON [5], then press the RESET button (you'll need a ballpen between the AUTO and SCRL buttons). This worked on the KDC-MP825 (very similar to the MPV8025) when my wife had the same problem this month.

There should be a red wire and yellow wire with connectors in the middle. swap the wires over, so red plugs into yellow, and vice versa.

I have a Pioneer Premier Deck in my van and I get the same problem I just unplug it and plug it back in
