Rotel 1056 - Turns On and Off

I've had my Rotel since about 2005 and just the other day the Rotel stopped working. The standby light is illuminated and when I turn it on (remote or receiver) it clicks, turns off and goes back to standby. I'm not sure where to start to diagnose the problem and would appreciate any help. I'm located in Deerfield, IL and not sure if there are any recommended dealers I should check in with.

If you are not using the 12v trigger between pre-amp and power amp make sure that the trigger switch on the rear of the RB-1070 is set to off

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Rotel 1050 receiver that I am trying

I think the best solution is to remove the jumpers from the Pre Out - Mon In connectors, insert a pair of RCA Y-adapters and plug one end back to the Mon In while the other ends feed the NAD (Page 15 of the manual available at Retrevo.com) . The Rotel's volume and other controls will still be in charge of the NAD.

The manual fails to mention looping the Pre Out back to the Mon In to enable the Rotel's amp to still participate in the program material.

SOURCE: Hi i have a Rotel

Try fixing your remote controller, because sometimes when we neglected to replace our remote batteries for a while, it will leak and it will build up on the contacts of the remote pad.

Take off the battery, open the back of your remote, lift the circuit board, clean the green painted part with cotton balls slightly damp with rubbing alcohol as well as the black thingy behind your remote pad, let it dry put it back together, replace with a new battery and try if it works.

Good luck

Do an auto search method to search for codes. If the remote control have set-up code to your device, you will win. If not, buy an other remote control, which have set-up code/s to your device brand.
If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common codes to check devices with different brand TVs are given, in the order of the device's brand name list in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

After 7 yrs of use, it just stopped working

I agree that It could be one of the other reasons listed here.....

But, I had the same problem with a 1,000 watt Kenwood amplifier and it worked like a boss for the whole two years that I had it and then one day the box that I had my subs in somehow came apart and after I changed out boxes the amp quit working. It came on but it wouldn't work anymore except for when I turned it a certain way or sat it against something.. Anyway it ended up being a loose female port plug on the inside where the auxilary cables plug up.

Hope it helps.

Hello I have a rotel RSX 1056 witch I used once six years ago for two months . I lhavent used it since then , and now I decided to hook it back up and I have no audio . It turns on but when I set a radio...

If you stored it in an area with high moisture content it is probably corroded at most of the contact switches. Capacitors also hate moisture, especially paper capacitors! The tuner is also probably oxidized inside. Now is the time to be brave and pull it apart, but first PULL OUT THE PLUG from the wall. Have at it with electric parts cleaner spray and clean, dry compressed air. If you believe that just because you stored it in your house, there was no moisture, think again! Radios like cars do not do well in storage unless you take precautions to protect them!

After a gig last night we tried our Marshall JCM 2000 DSL401and it had developed two noises without anything plugged in. The first is a transformer hum that I'd never noticed before and when standby is...

Likely the filter capacitors have a problem. Best to take this in for repair... it is ODD that there is noise with the standby switch is in standby... That makes no sense... In standby it appears that power is removed from the power amp high voltage so nothing should come through the speaker... Unles maybe one off the power tubes had a total meltdown which should have blown the fuse.
