I get vertical black lines on pages copied with my HP 3050. Scanner glass is clean. In past HP has given me a code (not found in menu) that allows me to "white out" the scanner using a white piece of paper. It has worked multiple times, but I've lost that code. Anyone have it? They want $150 to give it to me again and I'll buy a new competitor's printer before giving them any more money. Thanks!
You say that the scanner glass is clean, but it takes next to nothing to cause these lines. Couldn't hurt to chack again (if you havent cleaned it 6 times already).....anyway, I found this document that is not specifically for your machine, but the menu commands should be the same:
Recalibrate the product scanner:
Good Luck, and please rate the response :)

Happens when it scans and copies...not when it prints. In the past
when we used the procedure from HP to tell it "this is white", it
worked well and completely made the lines go away for a couple months.
The ability is in the machine to do that....it's just one of those
hidden HP menus the general consumer can't get to. Sure wish I could
find my notes! :)
does this happen when printing as well, or just copying?
