I have a Nikon F10 camera. I bought a 4 GB SD card and started shooting pictures with camera. Now when I want to download the pictures I can not find the files, but I can view them on the camera LCD screen. Even when I remove this card and insert this in to an SD card reader connected to PC, the card is detected, but PC asks to insert a card again when we click the card icon. I suspect that Nikon is using a different file format. If this is so, how do I back up the photos to my PC?
Pls help. Thanks
It could be one of two problems. The most likely is that the card reader you are using cannot read SDHC cards, of which all 4GB and larger cards are. Try using the camera's cable to download to your computer directly to the USB port. I bet you'll find that it works that way. The other problem could be (but not likely) that you are shooting on the RAW file format, instead of the jpeg file format. Most software cannot recognize RAW files, but jpeg is pretty universal.
