my machine jammed as a label was printing - I removed the paper and no part of it stayed behind, but the power & resume lights continue to blink. I tried all the paper jam steps and even replaced both the ink cartridges, just in case, tried powering off and disconnecting from computer and redoing all - still have both blinking! Help!

Like the post above, take both cartridges out of the printer and close the lid. The printer should start to activate the printer arm. Then once the printer is done moving replace the cartridges and close the lid. Press print!

I have hp deskjet 5550 printer, when i was trying to print a document there is no print out, two lights are blinking

Hi, This could be Low-Ink or paper Jam. Try turning off The printer, Unplug from The Mains Electric, for 3-5 Minutes. Turn back On, if Lights Are Still There. Check The Ink-Levels. And Replace Cartridges, if necessary.

Hp 5550 deskjet not printing

This is typical cartridge problem.Which cartridge changed? This printer can print with the only one cartridge inside it, whatever which.Try this: Open cover put out color cartridge then close cover. If blinking stops replace color cartridge. If blinking continues put out black cartridge and put in color. If blinking stops replace black cartridge, if not stop replace both cartridges.
If this not help your printer has problem in carriage unit and need repair.

Constant yellow blinking light, no paper jam

I found this on the HP support site:

The power light is on, and the resume light is blinking.

c00109831.gifc01272271.gifc00109834.gif The printer might be waiting to complete a print job or to receive data from your computer.

Solution

Wait for the printer to finish the current task. The printer is waiting for the ink to dry on freshly printed paper.

Solution

  1. Remove the paper with fresh ink.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might be out of paper.

Solution

  1. Load paper in the paper tray.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might have a paper jam.

Solution

Clear the paper jam. If the resume light continues to blink after the paper jam is cleared,

OR

if the print carriage is stuck or making a grinding noise, then follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover of the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
  4. Movethe print carriage toward the middle of the printer (this proceduremight take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Remove the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover.
The printer may be ready to eject banner paper.

Solution

Press the resume button to eject the banner paper.

Blinking Light

uaually the LED blinnks when there is no ink or when it runs low on ink. But since the LED is kept there to indicate any error happens to the printer.... 1. So I suggest that you should take out the printer cartridges and check all of them....shake well before you put it back. Now open Control panel - printers and fexes - right click HP 5550 - Properties There should an option to see the ink levels. If you can see the ink levels....it means that printer can detect the cartridges. Now the printer LED should be turned off. If the above doesn't work, try this; Check the printer que .. if there are print jobs pending, the LED will blink. Delete the print jobs, and restart the machine. This should solve your problem.
