Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

Below is a link to common solutions that will help you with parts and diagnostic procedures that are specifically tuned to your manufacturers data plate information.
It provides exploded view imagery, belt routing diagrams, parts imagery and function, parts ordering and shipping information, error code details, just about anything you need to get your appliance up and running again.

Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.

If this doesn't help, post me back and I will do some more research to help resolve your issue.

If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with:

Power from the house
Door switch
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

SOURCE: dryer will not start

Your dryer may not be receiving adequate voltage to start. Make sure your dryer is plugged in. Also, check the circuit breaker panel to make sure all the circuit breakers are in the correct positions. Or check to make sure no fuses in the fuse panel are blown. Try plugging something else into the same outlet. If it won't work either, then there is likely something wrong with the power outlet. Any of these could be the reason power is not getting to your dryer. Also, refrain from using an extension cord to plug your dryer in.

SOURCE: Duet whirlpool dryer not running

If it is the 9400 series, the door has 2 latches. It must be shut firmly to connect. Sometimes it will take 3 or 4 firm shuts. I feel it is a design flaw of the door. Hopefully this helps as I have been struggling with it for 2 years.

How to replace start button on whirpool duet model WED9200SQO

Hello. If the outer soft-touch button is damaged, you will need to replace the outer console assembly, part# 10116694. If the internal button is damaged, you will have to replace the "center user interface board) part# w10031410. This is an INVOLVED repair. If you haven't worked on a dryer, don't attempt this. The top cover must be removed by removing its screws at the rear of the dryer. Slide the cover back about an inch and lift it up. POWER MUST BE REMOVED AT THIS POINT. The control panel has the boards mounted to it by screws--the function dial must be transferred to the new board as well as other parts.

Dryer will not start when pushing start button it just clicks once

This sounds like a problem with the thermal fuse blown which is wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is terminated when the thermal fuse blows and the motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this kind of Whirlpool Duet or Kenmore Elite dryer problem.
