Can't play music off my samsung. can download songs from pc but whenever i switch player on it says no file. Not registering any file i upload on it although it can be full of music? help!
You have to put music in the music folder in the device, and You must not delete any other folder, especially system. If you have deleted them, You'll have to reinstall firmware from www.emodio.com

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/search/supportSearchModelResult.do?menu=SP01&searchWord=YpU2&searchInputBox=Yp-U2&find_button= Go to this site ...select the exact model of your YP-U2 ...cause there are about 3 different series..and when you know for sure your model ...select it from the tab ...Than select firmware ..and download the firmware software ..connect the device by the cable ..and reinstall the firmware into the unit.. This should bring it back if you formatted it from the computer and delete the firmware .. If the firmware is not deleted...that just reconnect it to the computer and look for it into My computer folder...You should see it like a removable device ...open the folder and copy into it files with music (mp3 files) ...after that will have the music in it again ..
You don't need that actually. The computer will just recognized this as removable drive. Open up My Computer then plug the device on USB port, then it will pop up as removable/additional drive. Explore, then goto folder or file folder usually MUSIC folder or where you put the music files.
You can drag and drop MP3 files and delete it. Software dismount it and take off and you are ready to play it.
Sir,
You are suggested to format your Mp3 player once again and keeping its Format as "FAT" plz observe FAT not FAT32. there your problem will be solved.
Visit the Australian part of the Samsung website (http://www.samsung.com) and go to the download centre. Select the option to download the firmware for the Samsung YP-U2. It will be version V2.211. The download will be a zipped folder. Unzip the folder on your PC and run the setup program. This will install the Samsung YP-U2 software on your PC. Connect the player directly to a USB port on your PC and start the YP-U2 program. Use a paper clip to press the reset button on the YP-U2 whilst at the same time pressing the PLAY button. Hold the reset and play button like this for ten seconds. Once your PC picks up the player it should automatically download the drivers. Release the reset button and follow the instructions on your PC screen to install the firmware. The process will delete all the files currently on your MP3 player but at least you will be able to get it working again. If you fail to get the download at the Samsung website, send an email to [email protected] and I will send you the zipped folder (almost 5MB).
if you have a error message license error, it means song is not properly authorized to be shared.
is this "downloaded song", are they on mp3 format? if they are, try using windows media player, then synch it with the mp3 player.
hope this helps!
