Turn on as you did before and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, try turning OFF the computer by keeoing the POWER button pressed for 7 secons. If the computer goes off, then your screen is fried and the computer is actually booting up normally... you just can't see it ;)

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook N6410. Sys. MS Window XP 2002. Is there a way to prevent the cursor from jumping when typing. It apparently is caused by accidentally sweeping over the touch pad.

Go to Control Panel > Mouse > USB Mouse Connection > Select Mouse pad is automatically invalidated.
This setting turns off the mouse pad whenever a USB mouse is connected.

I need to find a motherboard for my 3 yr old N6410. Other then from Fujitsu. any help would be welcome. It got wet.

Notebooks are highly customised hardware. You will likely need the exact same model to replace a damaged MB. Search google for the model number, look for a broken monitor to use the MB of.

The alternative is to sell it for parts and buy a new one.

My n6410 hard drive is password locked, but i dont know the password

In order to unlock your hard disk drive. You have to open your laptop and look for the cmos battery, cmos battery is a small circle dry cell and its number is CR2032. The cmos battery are responsible for holding the bios settings like the system date and time. The purpose of removing the battery is to clear the settings you save in your bios/cmos settings, just remove from its base and put i back after 10 seconds. With this procedure it will unlock your hard disk drive and now you access your computer. The problem here right now is the opening of your computer. You have to be careful while opening your computer you might break the casing or damage some parts. Have a nice day.

I need to change the fan on my fujitsu n6410 and I found the topic on Fixya: Fujitsu n6410 unassembly to change fan. But I don't see any answer even though it says 1 solution.

Hi,
Thanks for giving Fixya the pleasure to solve your problem.
Follow these steps to change the fan:-
  • Turn off your Fujitsu and remove the main battery from the bottom of the device. Remove the screws on the underside of the laptop with your Phillips screwdriver.

  • Remove the compartment cover marked "Hard Drive" on the bottom of the laptop and unplug the thick cable connecting the computer to the hard drive. Gently pull the hard drive from its housing.
  • Turn your laptop right-side up and remove the screws on the backs of the two hinges that support the LCD monitor. Now open your laptop so the screen is facing you.
  • Insert the tip of your screwdriver under the edge of the thin plastic plate just above the keyboard. Gently pry it up and remove it from the computer. Lift the keyboard up from the top edge and disconnect the data ribbon connecting it to the motherboard. Remove the keyboard and set it aside.
  • Disconnect the two LCD ribbons that connect the screen to the computer and then unplug the touchpad ribbon connecting the touchpad to the computer.
  • Remove the screws on the sides of the frame underneath where the keyboard used to sit and remove the frame, exposing the internal components of the laptop.
  • Locate the square fan in the left corner of the computer and disconnect the single cable that runs from its side to the motherboard.
  • Remove the screws securing the fan to the computer and replace with the new fan (available from your Fujitsu retailer or online) and reassemble the laptop in the reverse order you took it apart.

You can't upgrade the hardware, but you can upgrade the software, like the drivers and possibly the firmware. You can check for software updates at the Fujitsu website.
