You need to flush the hole you unblocked with very hot water and make the water flow down the hole like a drain. Once you accomplish this, all will be well......

Hotpoint FZ175G red warning light comes on freezer still freezing after reset light comes on again after a couple of hours

Red light on for High Freezer Temperature Warning
or freezer not cooling, but fridge is and a lot of noise from compressor.
Also, fridge drain hole blocked, water in bottom of fridge.

This is a common fault in Hotpoint Fridge Freezers and can also happen if the door has been left open or has been a power cut.

1. Turn off fridge freezer, or at least turn down the freezer temp to minimum, though not ideal.
2. Open freezer door and remove all drawers.
3. Remove the back panel on the inside of the freezer. This is held in place with 4 screws, which might be 6mm hex head or star allen head. Pull the panel out.
4. Behind where the panel was, there is a cooling element for cooling, pipes, and below this a temperature sensor. If the fridge freezer is not switched off, then fold together a few layers of tinfoil and wrap around the sensor.
5. Use a hairdryer to slowly melt the ice. Melt it around areas where it appears to be hanging on, such as the corners of the cooling element or bolts, as well as any thin sections below the main block of ice around the cooling element, which will be supporting the main block. Use a plastic ice scraper to remove ice but not near pipes or sensor.
Warning: Be careful using electrics around water & melting ice & drips.
6. Below the cooling element, there is a drip channel & drain hole. If this hole is full of ice, pour a small amound of warm water down, leave for 10 seconds and pour a bit more until clear.
In the fridge, clear the drain hole in the same way.
Warning: Do not pour a lot of water down, as this water drains onto a tray above the hot compressor at the rear of the fridge freezer to be evaporated by the heat of the compressor and the tray will only hold a small amount.
7. When all ice is removed, dry all moisture. Put the shelves back. Close door. Turn on fridge freezer. Turn up the freezer temperature to your normal setting. Turn on fast freeze if available. After 1 hour, check with a thermometer. It should be cold enough after 1 or 2 hours.

HMG1947 with ice maker. Intermittent problem getting worse! I am getting water on the inside bottom, which will leak out onto the kitchen floor if I don't catch it with paper towels under the bottom...

Is the freezer section cooling properly. If yes, then problem is drain hole blocked in freezer section. There is a water drain hole, which runs to the drain line. But if the drain hole is got clogged by ice, then water will leak from other end and you get water in bottom drawer.-------- try manual defrost procedure.----------

The manual defrost reset procedure is as follows : ----
First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. Then check, do you notice the same problem, if yes then defrost assembly board is faulty. But in most cases defrost reset procedure helps.----------- Thanks.Helpmech.

Yesterday morning I noticed that the unit was buzzing. The refrigerator door had been left open and the temperature inside was 70 degrees. The freezer temperature was 20 degrees. This morning, 24 hours...

Hi
You have condesation built up in your freezer whereby the evaporator fan or the vents are most likely blocked off.

Turn fridge off. Empty freezer and either put a pot of boiling water inside freezer or with the aid of a hair dryer try to defrost the freezer. If you are able to remove the back panel on the freezer that would be ideal as you can directly target the frost.
Good luck

Freezer ice forming on the bottom inside then leaking onto the floor

You have a blocked drain.
There is a condensation drain at the back above the pump with a small tube that is meant to deposit water onto the pump for evaporation - the drain gets blocked so the condensation flows out through the front door. Also makes big rivers of ice at the back of your freezer behind the bottom shelf??
Solution - Dismantle the inside of the freezer - take all the plastic trim outof the back of the freezer with a screw driver - don't worry, it's only trim and goes back easily. Eventually you will see the drain collector (flat V shape) and at the point of the V is a small hole, pour warm water in this till it drains to the pump at the back, instead of down onto your floor at the front. You may need to clean the hole too as it gets gunked up.
You can also help by finding the drain tube above the pump at the back and gently inserting a chopstick or similar untill the warm water empties onto your hand !
Takes about an hour all in all and has been fixed for a year now on mine.

I have noticed a little bit of water pooling on the floor under the washer. It appears it is running down the inside of the front cover. There are a couple small tears on the door gasket on my front...

I have patched the holes until the new parts came in and customers have said it hasn't leaked. I used clear 100% silicone. This has lasted for several weeks on some occassions. Clean it good then let it dry for at least 24 hours. If you need to replace it here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/washerdoorseal.html

Bottom freezer is leaking water. Water seems to

You have a clogged defrost drain. The problem is fixed by unplugging unit from wall, open both doors, blow fan for 24 hours to SAFELY remove the ice covering the drain hole. If you use ANY other method, you may regret it. Once ice is melted, remove debris that is likely blocking the small drain hole, if no debris in drain pan, direct some high pressure air down the drain to block the debris INSIDE the tubing. Furthermore, its a good idea to make the drain hole in the drain pan larger, as sometimes a bubble of water can freeze in the drain hole, and ice could be the cause of your blockage from that bubble.

FREEZER KEEPS FREEZING UP THE DEFROST HOLE AND KEEPS LEAKING WATER IN THE REFRIGERATOR EVEN WHEN THE FREEZE IS EMPTY NOT BLOCKING AIR FLOW

Good day,
Common problem on Whirpools.
The drain hole is only the beginning. From there it goes to a cup in the fresh food compartment, where it travels thru a boot to the outside of the machine, then down to the drain pan.
That all has to be taken apart and cleaned completely. Just getting it open is not god enough.

As well, even though you can't see it, that hole in the freezer, is part of a large aluminum panel that runs up the back of the freezer coil. Ice will form on the back side of that panel, and cannot be seen.
The only solution is a 24 hour shutdown, unplugged with both doors open. Better with a floor fan, positioned to blow air into the freezer compartment.
Long and ugly, but it works.

My bottom refrigerator is not cold. The freezer is okay.

Check to make sure the fan in the freezer compartment is working and not blocked. This delivers the cold air to the refrigerator. The fan should run every time the freezer calls for cold.
