I can onbly do it with the Ethernet cord and If I try to connect wireless it says **** like unidentified network but It appears on the list and its names there but in Brackets eg. Won't connect online

This just happened to my siste and a frind of mine recently. It can be a few things.

Are you connecting via wire from your laptop or wireless? I'm hoping they did not remove a wireless router and not explain this to you.

With a new modem your main IP address would change. First I would try turning off everything, unplug the modem and any connected switches or routers. Wait at least 10 minutes, better yet, unplug them and go to work, go shopping etc.. Then plug the modem back in, wait 2-5 minutes, plug in any routers and switches, wait 1 minute then turn the laptop back on. See if that solves the problem.

Crashed ADSL modem. 192.168.1.1 doesn't work.

The device you mentioned is not a ADSL Modem, but just a Wireless B Router.
If you can, I;d go and buy at least a Wireless G Router, this device is "legacy" or "obsolete" technology. In the US a Belking Wireless G Router costs $35 at OfficeMax.
For a full reset, press the reset switch for at least 30 seconds.Have you tried it on another computer? It could be something on the current computer.

Wireless router not working.

Power cycle the modem/router, which ever it is, or both.

Unplug the power, let it sit for about 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait til all the light stop flashing. Internet light may flicker with activity.

Router won't log into it's IP address online

It appears to me that you have everything plugged into the desktop PC. This is not the way that it should be done. Plug the cable modem into the wireless router via the Internet/WAN port. Plug your desktop PC into one of the ports numbered 1-4. Now connect to the router via the wireless connection for the router and you should be able to now connect to the internet with your laptop.
If it still does not work, power down everything in this order: Laptop, Desktop, Router, Cable Modem. Bring everthing up in the reverse order (Cable Modem, Router, Desktop, Laptop) waiting for each device to stablize before moving to the next.
Once you get everything working, turn on your wireless security (WPA not WEP) asap to keep your computers and surfing safe, and to keep intruders off your network.
