My phone, a meridian M7208, does not ring incoming calls

The only phone in the system that rings is at the reception. How do I make incoming calls ring at my desk as well?

SOURCE: Meridian M7208 phone

You can unplug the phone system to reset it, plug it back in and then turn off that forward rule.

Do you know how to program the system?

You will need to log into system programming. Got to lines/trunks and enter your extension. You will see the line appearances to appear only. You need to change those to appear and ring.

If you do not know how to get into programming. Call a professional.

SOURCE: Night switching for KX-T7630

You have 4 different modes of calling available to be programmed: DAY NIGHT BREAK and LUNCH. Your installer has to set up the ICD groups, but you can create a LUNCH group which looks like the day mode but rings all phones. The codes are accessed by dialing on the intercom *780x where 0 is day 1 is night 2 is lunch and 3 is break.

You may use the NIGHT mode in the daytime, but if you have voice mail, it will play the night greeting instead of a day greeting.

SOURCE: Phone will not ring

It's RINGING now! I followed the Set Programming instruction in our manual. It's in Configuration 3-21. It's a very old old Operator guide.
I am trying to find it online. In the mean time you can use the M7208 Phone Adminitration Overlay over the keys and program your phone by pressing Feature **266344
Here is a link to the overlay
Good Luck.

Remove the ringing from incoming calls on a norstar. I have multiple extensions in the building but want the incoming calls only to ring to a few extensions

You need administrative rights to get into the PBX. Once in there, you can assign which phones receive incoming calls. It has been years since I worked on the meridian system, so I can't tell you the way to do it, but it is in the manual. It's not complicated. You can also set it up for DAY/NIGHT mode so that in the evening, if required, all phones could ring on incoming calls so that anyone in the building can answer them.

My M7310 won't forward a call to the next open line but gives a busy signal

Hard to answer because your problem description does not match the part.
Nortel Meridian M7208 Corded Phone is a digital phone which works off a phone system. Also note that the carrier controls the rollover, not the phone or its system.

Once you have more/proper details maybe you can be helped.

You can use the do not disturb function on your set. When used it will stop all ringing on your set(both line ring and intercom ring). To turn on DND, press feature 85, to turn the DND back off press feature #85.

M7208n phone - mute ringer for external calls

Incoming line ring settings are in the config menu under:
2nd option - Line access
enter extension number
2nd option - Ringing
Ringing then can be toggled on or off for each line assigned to that extension.

Incoming calls briefly ring once then automatically kick over to answering machine. I cannot get any incoming calls

Are you using norstar voicemail system?

If you are and know how to get into the admin programming of it, then you go to the line programming and select the number of rings before the vmail system answers.

set the rings to "3", then the lines should ring 3 times on your phone, then on the 4th ring the vmail system will answer

I have the Nortel BCM system and the problem is with a Norstar Meridian M7208 phone. This phone randomly rings (constant rings no pause between rings) and the only way to stop it is to unplug the phone...

I had that same issue before...

I turned the:
-> Autoset Relocate to On
-> then punched the set down on another port on the BCM system

I think it's just a bad port on the system...
The swap fixed my issue at my site. It was not a set problem, just something funny from the BCM.

Not too sure if you have the means to do that swap on the system yourself. But, it can be fixed.
