This model OKI printer is not an inkjet printer, it is a color laser printer. and uses color toner cartridges.
The printer image drum unit has reached the end of its service life and this drum unit needs to be replaced.

I suggest you Google the Internet for an OKI image drum unit for your model printer, You will get various suppliers and their prices.
The image drum unit will cost approx. A$200

Try this procedure, don't know if it will work on your models.

Turn off the printer
Turn the printer on whilst holding down Menu button. (Display says user maintenance.)
Press the menu button three times. (The display will say drum counter reset.)
Press enter key. The system should go back on line, if not press on-line key.

A drum can print only a limited number of pages before failure - your drum has reached that number and must be replaced.

My Oki C310dn printer prints lines through everything.

You need to do s head clean.
This could take 2 or 3 goes but should fix it you will find head clean in the maintenance settings.
It eats the ink so only do as you need.
let me know how it goes.

Data mb-460 drum life

Yes,

That message indicates the drum is getting close to the end of life. The printer shows the message a bit before the end of life on the drum so you have time to order one before it goes out completely. You can get them from your office supply dealer or from Amazon.com

The color printer has a message on it now saying "Black Image Drum Near Life"

You need to get a drum unit from your supplier. These are rather expensive and you might find it cheaper to buy a new printer which will include new cartridges.

On the other hand you might consider going for the service agreement and only pay per page printed... Will save you costly surprizes in the future.

Oki C5450 error message

The figure after the K drum Life tells you how much life there is left on the BLACK (K) drum. C indicates Cyan, M indicates Magenta and Y indicates Yellow.

Go to the USAGE MENU and look at the K DRUM LIFE setting. This will be a 2 digit percentage value. As you have just seen the message appear this will mean that the drum life remaining is ....whatever the 2 digit value displays.

The life expectancy of a drum is approximately 15,000 pages.

Replaced K toner and machine is telling me there is no toner in it.

There are sensors along the inside right wall that tell the unit if there is a K cartridge inserted. Usually what happens is that due to a toner spill, the sensor LED is covered with toner and or is bad . Hence it does not see the K cartridge. This happens mostly with the black or K cartridge. Get some compressed air and lightly shoot some into the hole that corresponds to the K cardtridge. Only in the hole, do not spray the air anywhere else in the printer.
If this does not clear it up, you would need to replaced the sensor board which is held in with 12 springs!
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Oki c5500n drum reset

To get the OKI C5500 to keep going (without opening and closing the lid constantly) in spite of toner cartridge & drum life messages:

1) Turn off printer.
2) Hold down "+" and "-" buttons at the same time, and keep them held down while turning printer back on... continue to hold until the word "OKIUSER" appears.
3) Use "-" button to scroll down to "FUSE KEEP MODE".
4) Press "Enter" button, hold for approx. 10 seconds, then release.
5) Press "Enter" button again, followed by rapid release and repress with hold for approx. 10 seconds.
6) Release "Enter" button, then press and let up one more time quickly.
7) You will see "INITIALING" and then "ONLINE" messages.

If you currently have an error message for toner cartridge life, the message will continue to be shown until after you've sent one print job, and then it will usually disappear for awhile. It will stay gone for longer if you have your printer set up so the toner sensor is turned off.

If you currently have a error message for drum life, it will continue to appear, but you will still be able to print.

Beware that you will have to keep a closer eye on print quality (since you are no longer relying on error message to tell you when your toner cartridges are in need of a replacement or refill, or the drum truly needs to be changed or refurbished).
Please note that anytime you turn the printer off, you will have to go through the whole process again when you turn it back on. It doesn't take long though, and will quickly become habit whenever turning on your printer for the day!
Good Luck.

Message on printer

Your printer has counter on it that keeps track of the number pages that have been printed with it. It is warning you that the drum unit is coming close to the end of it's rated life. Order a black drum unit and have it on hand. Some time in the near future the printer will stop operating until you install the new drum which will come with instructions on how to install it. If you order it now, you will avert a "Crisis" later. Ed
