Is the music files in the music folder? (its a hidden folder stupidly enough so is hidden files turned on in your operating system?)
are they mp3 or wav files? If the answers are no - now you know why.

My sansa player does not recognize a micro sd when its inserted

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You can use a separate card reader to put files onto the microSD card. When the card is installed into the Sansa, the Sansa will see the additional music.

I purchase more memory for my sansa e250 player and when i go to download music from my mediaplayer it doesnt recognize that i added more memory

the extra memory is considered a seperate drive and is recognized by your computer. Try moving the files you have from the normal internal memory to your backup drive so that you can download to internal again. (Via your computer and dragging and dropping)

My computer cant open the file in my e250

1. Plug the sansa into your PC. If Windows does not recognize the clip, unplug it, turn it off, and then put the clip in "hold" mode by placing the on/off switch into the hold position. Hold down the middle button on the Clip while you plug the clip back into your PC. It should recognize it.

2. From "My Computer", find the sansa icon and choose format. Note: this will delete all your music files on the device...

3. Download the firmware updater for the sansa

4. Follow the instructions to update your firmware.

5. If you need additional assistance try calling Sandisk's tech support:

Computer will not recognize Sansa e250 MP3 Player

You need to first update your firmware with a windows based computer (one update at a time in order). This will solve a ton of issues. Finally change the "USB Mode" to "MSC" with in the settings menu and you can enjoy your player

I have had this problem for some time now and finally got through to tech support for Sansa and now have the solution:Worked for both 230 and 240.
Take out the battery in the Sansa player; Put on lock on back side of Sansa player; Connect Sansa to the computer, Once computer recognizes device cancel out of that media program; Go to my computer on desk top; Right click on recognized Sansa device; Click format; Click ok to delete files.

Sansa e250 mp3

I would stop using the program that you are using. Instead, and this is what I like to do, when you connect your mp3 player to your computer, and you open "My Computer," your mp3 player should pop up like a hard drive. Open it, and drag - and - drop your files from your music folder. It's a lot faster to do this.

Sansa won't charge or load.

Plug it into the computer (the cord you would use to charge it and transfer files), and hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds. The Sansa should then begin to turn on and start charging. :)

Empty folder

There may be possible reasons why your Sansa E250 would display an message on the LCD even when you've downloaded files to it: (1) The music file type is not supported by the player. Sansa players support only MP3 and WMA files. To determine what file type your have, right click on the file type and it should display the "properties" dialog box. Check if it is MP3 or WMA. For example, iTunes music files will not work with the player, nor will WAV or MIDI files. (2) Your music files are supported but the bit rate is not within the range that the player supports. Sansa players support MP3 files up to 128 KBPS and WMA files up to 64 KBPS. You may need to use a 3rd party music file editor to convert the files to a supported bit rate (3) You may have saved your music files in a folder and copied the folder to the player. Your Sansa E250 will not recognize folders. Either save them in the root directory or inside the "Music" folder -- your player's default folder for music files. Hope this info helps :)

Deleting files from Sansa e250

The only way I know to delete music files or voice or FM recordings, is straight from the User's manual on the CD: 1. Set the e250 to MSC mode. 2. Plug it in to your computer with the USB connector. 3. Open the Sansa e250 drive in My Computer and browse to the MUSIC folder (or RECORD folder)and delete the files there. (That's where you also add music files, by dragging from other explorer windows.) To delete (or add) photo and video files, you have to use the Media Converter, which you install from the disk that came with the e250.
