I have faint red blotches on the screen of my 52 inch Sony wega. We only clean with a soft damp cloth and never use chemicals. Could it possibly behind the screen? Can this be fixed or do I have to replace the screen? A friend told me a tech took his screen of to clean the dust off from behind his screen, but he didnt have a problem with red blotching.
If this is the model with a light engine, then there lies your problem. Your filters in the engine are burning up. The light engine will need to be replaced. If this is an older model with the 3 tubes you might be able to adjust your red green and blue tubes to get the picture back in good standings. Please keep in mind when asking questions to include both the make and model number. This will help us help you more efficiently.

I have the exact same problem. I believe we need Part # MLT386X PCB according to the other posts. It's around $179.

The Optical Block / Light Engine is the problem. Very expensive repair / over $1000
Testimonial: "Optical block was the problem and has been replaced and TV is like new. Thank you for your response."

I turn the tv on and the tint is off and I can't get it fixed. A friend told me it could be my vidoe card. Is that true?
Thanks Rob
