Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.

The above are possibly the general remedies for this problem. But possible if the problem still persists after this, possibly the drum bearings might have been damaged during the previous heavy vibrations. Please do post comments. Will be glad to help you out.Good luck.
SOURCE: Makes horrible noise during spin cycle only
The bearings have most likely gone bad. This is a very common problem with the front load washer when powder soap is used.
SOURCE: motor just hums during spin cycle
This sounds like the drive belt may have snapped off. It's usually located on the bottom of the washer. If you're able, tilt the washer on its side and recover the broken belt. It usually connects from the drive motor to the tensioner, then to the transmission. Take the belt to your local appliance parts store so they can match it up with a replacement. You may want to copy down the actual model and serial numbers down so the parts counter can provide a more accurate and exact replacement. Please let me know if you need any further help with this.
I hope this helps! :)

I do keep it cleaned out per the suggestion of the LG manual. We actually just did a tub clean recently.
Does not resemble an airplane. Thanks.
We found that the rotor assembly was bad. The plastic teeth were shredded. We were able to replace it since everything else looked fine for $80. Now the drum spins during the spin cycle and does not make that grinding noise. Praying this doesn't happen again, but if it does, we'll be getting a new washer and it will not be an LG.
