How do I wind a McGregor hunt club quartz watch?

As far as I know, any "quartz" watch will be run by a battery, not by a spring you can wind. If it's stopped, you need to replace the battery.

I just bought an Emporio Armani AR2020 wrist watch and when I received it, the hands on the watch wouldn't move. Do I need a battery for the watch? Is it broken?

That specific watch has a quartz movement, and it does not have a sweeping hand that moves to count the seconds. If the hour and minute hands are not moving there is a possibiliy that the battery has died. If after the battery is replaced and the hands still do not move then it's an issue with the quartz movement.

My omega deville ladies prestige quartz is losing time. There is no second hand on the watch and the minute hand seems to tick every 10 secs or so. It has just had a new battery replaced by omega...

Yes. The minute hand ticking every 10 seconds is normal. Losing time is either battery or a movement malfunction. Only a trained watchmaker (or presumably Omega) can determine which. Take it back to Omega

Is it possible to convert a wind-up watch to battery(quartz ?) operation ? Thanks.

Unfortunately no, the only option is to remove the mechanical works and replace it with a quartz circuitry.

I have a gold cartier, i think its the ameriacana? i never take it off. it stopped suddenly last night?

If it is the model you mention, then it could be automatic or quartz (battery) operated.

They usually say somewhere front or back if it is automatic, otherwise it is likely to be a quartz.

If you have had it for some years, then a dead battery is a likely suspect.

You should take it to a Cartier dealer and discuss a replacement battery.

Hi, I found on a street market a MIYOTA T241 watch in original package, also a plastic shield on the glass. Now the problem: May be the liquid of the battery destroyed any power supply wires or contacts. I...

mcdevito75 here, Once the battery leaks it destroys the quartz mechanism. Even if you find a replacement quartz, you"d need special Jewelers tools to remove and replace the quartz, even with that you could destroy the new quartz if you can find one. Best Bet, see a small watch repair shop in your area for a quartz replacement approx. $75.00

What is the main internal assembly of the Casio forester watch called? Replacing the battery does not work.

mcdevito75 here, The Internal workings of all watches and clocks, Quartz and mechanical is called the movement. You may have a weak or even dead battery, even if the battery is new. If you"ve dropped your watch, got it water logged, you could have hurt the Quartz movement. It'll take special equiptment to check the Quartz movement to see if it"s burned out. I would try another battery or at least double check this batteries instalation in your watch. For more info, here is Casio"s contact number, 800-435-7732 9AM--5PM EST.

Watch not working!... no use if i put a new battery..... the guy says i had to change the battery immediately and now my watch got spoilt by the old battery.....it seems it leaked and spoilt...... now how...

mcdevito75 here, Sadly, once a battery, any battery leaks, it leaks out acid that eats away metal. Once your watch Battery leaked acid, it ate away electrical contacts, wires as thin as hairs, and tiny linkages with--in the quartz movement of your watch, ----- there is no reversal of this acid corrosion. You have 2 choices, 1 and if this is possible, have your watch repair person replace the quartz movement with a new one, if replacement movement is available, and 2 replace the entire watch. Sorry.

Seiko flightmaster fitted new battery watch wont work atall

Most likely the watch was damaged when the battery was installed. Quartz watches have fragile parts in them. The coils for instance are made of wire thinner than the hair on your head. It takes almost nothing to damage these wires and the coil. Dirt is a big problem. Since a quartz watch has no force behind the gear train the smallest particle of dirt can stop a quartz watch.

Either your watch will need a cleaning or damaged parts will need replacing.

A qualified watchmaker can do this work and get your watch back in working order for you.

Hope this helps,
