Nortel M7310 Phone moved to another jack, now no incoming calls

I moved my Nortel M7310 (8 line model) to another wall jack upon rearranging my office and now it is not operating as before. I can call out fine, however before I could just pick up the handset and get a dial tone in order to dial an extension...now I have to hit the "intercom" button first to dial an extension cause when I pick up the handset, there is no dial tone.

Also...my phone will not acknowledge incoming calls on all 8 lines as before, where I can just pick it up and answer. Seems as though it will ring/acknowledge calls on lines 1 & 2, but nothing else. It won't even show the line active on the display by the line buttons, unless it's lines 1 or 2.

I know there is something about moving these phones from one jack/extension to another, but I don't have the book, and my boss said to figure it out myself cause we don't have a "technician" we can call without imposing a service fee, and he is definitley to busy to worry about it, and I don't want to mess up the whole phone system trying to figure it out for myself.

    Ok...just to clarify, I am talking about just my personal desk phone...I can't necessarily go making major changes to the system itself, unless it's something relatively simple.

    The phone does have a working extension, and I can call out, and it acknowledges incoming calls on lines 1 & 2...it's just not handling everything else as before.

    As far as an "Admin guide" or manuals or the such...I am at the mercy of the internet!! Even if my boss did have time to dig it up, he wouldn't even know where to begin!! As you can tell....I have been totally thrown to the wolves on this one!!

    The system is a Nortel Startalk Flash, but as I said before...I am pretty much relegated to my set as far as programming goes, so I'm hoping it can be resolved that way!! The boss seen me just looking at the system on the wall and I thought he was going to have a stroke if I got too close!! But...if I do have to do something to that...if it is really simple, then maybe I can show/explain it to hom and he might be ok with it.

    The best way to do this is with a manual. Look around for a system administrator's guide. The quickest way is to copy your old phone into the new phone.

The reason your phones config is not the same as before is because configuration goes by what extension it is. So if you plug your phone in somewhere else, unless you have DN's configured, your extension changes, so say it was extension 21, but now that you moved it, its now 23, those settings remain on extention 21, so if you bought another phone and plugged it into were extention 21 is, it would have the settings that your old phone had before

To access the intercom by just picking up the handset, Press Feature **CONFIG (266344), Select <A. Configuration>, then go to <2. Line Access>, Select that and enter the extension of the phone you want to have access intercom by just picking up the handset. Scroll until you see <Intercom Keys: #,> make sure you have at least one intercom key. Then scroll until you see <Prime Line: #>, Press change until the display reads <Prime Line:I/C>  And there you go. Hope i didn't confuse you

You need to go to your previous location and get the jack number, than go to the new location and get the jack number. now go to the phone system closet and look for these cable numbers on the 66 blocks. Swap the cross connect of the jacks and wallah your phone will be your s again! ldtnsj.com

How to I turn the universal volume on a Norton Networks T7316E Phone?

Have you tried to call the phone and adjust the volume on the set while the call is coming in? I think the only way you can adjust the ringer volume is if the phone is ringing.

Hard to answer because your problem description does not match the part.
Nortel Meridian M7208 Corded Phone is a digital phone which works off a phone system.Also note that the carrier controls the rollover, not the phone or its system.

Once you have more/proper details maybe you can be helped.

Unfortunatly Nortel system phones cannot work wireless with the exception of thier wireless set which still require a jack/port for the base unit.

There is a Feature that you can dial if your phone rings... when there is a call coming in, dial FEATURE 8 1 1 You can even make this a button rather than dialing this feature code everytime: -> Feature * 3 -> press the button that you want to program -> dial Feature 8 1 1

Phone is dead! M7310

There is no power cord required for an M7310 set. The set gets all the power from the Nortel telephone system. Try plugging in your phone where another phone is active to ensure that your phone that you want to install is working. The phone flashes, then stops, then flashes, then stops... you just have to be patient when testing. Possible Troubles: -> It maybe the line cord, the cord that plugs in from the wall to the phone that can be damaged. -> the jack might be dead (wiring in the jack is pulled off) or inactive (there is no jumper from the office to the telephone system). -> the phone port from the telephone system might be dead.

Call forwarding for NorStar m7310

You have to know how to get into programming, and it depends on the type of telephone lines you have... if you have regular analog lines, on a out bound call transfer there is going to be line degragation. Meaning that the outgoing call is not going to be of the best quality.

Secondly, you have to see how many telephone lines you have, if you have 3 analog trunks, with a call forwarding to a cell phone, you will be using up 2 lines... 1 incoming and 1 outgoing to your cell. This leaves 1 trunk for incoming or outgoing callers.

Nortel M7310

Your M7310 phone does not have caller ID. The phone system can have caller ID and there are a few different options you could have for phone system and caller ID packages. You should try to find out which Nortel phone system you have and possibly what type of Caller ID unit.

I suspect you cannot do what you are looking for because as I mentioned, the phone itself does not have caller ID and only displays what the phone system tells it to. It is more complicated for a caller ID system to store a list of previous calls when you have multiple lines and multiple phones. Would you want to see a list of every call that has come in, just the calls that rang at your station or just the calls that rang and you answered at your station.... BUT... this may be ansered in a user guide specific to your phone system or your caller ID interface.
