Does this problem happen when scanning either from the scanner glass or the automatic document feeder? Does this problem happen when scanning either from the computer using the Lexmark software or scanning using the Scan button on the printer operator panel? This will help me understand what might be causing this problem.
The collate button is an electronic one on the LCD panel...not a separate button.
Now if the display is not registering the "finisher" / collator as being there then it is possible that something is wrong .. maybe the collator/finisher was physically installed onto the machine but maybe the electrical connectors were not plugged in. Ask the person/company that donated it if it was working.
There is no "SERVICE MODE" as such....adjustments are done thro a variety of MENU modes or the alteration or "bits" contained in various Switch settings. Unless you know what you ar doing you can get in a real mess if you start playing.
0C means you have a cooling fan problem. Located behind the lower rear cover in the lower right hand corner of the machine. Either the filter has gotten caught in the fan "OR" the fan itself has gone faulty..."it is also a signal generator." So...check for the filter caught; or the fan may have to be replaced.
Open front door of the Finisher Unit. Over to the left beside the 2 green knobs you will see the Staple Cartridge. Pull slightly down and out and the cartridge will come out. A new cartridge has to be installed...they cannot be re-filled.
if the unit makes color copies correctly, the scanner is working correctly, the application you are scanning to sets the size, resolution, color/b&w, etc. you will need to enter into the application and set it for color.
In network environments the muratec's usually have to have the setup disk run. They do not work on the standard TCP/IP port. The disk creates a muratec port for the pc to print to.
I am not sure why all scan to email is deleted, but you cant use scan-to-email or any of those scanning features using a USB anyways. Must be connected to the network
If connected by USB, you can download some twain scan utility (purchase one or download free one online) on your computer and install/set it up to use the Muratec as the scanner. Anytime you want to scan, open and use that utility.
