When you disconnect the car battery you
will disable your car radio, (this is an anti-theft device). The unlock
code is in your Owners manual. If you do not have this code you need to
go to your Mitsubishi service centre to get them to unlock your radio for you.
To obtain the code needed for your radio you have two choices. One is to go to the Mitsubishi dealer and let them perform the task of configuring the code. They will charge you over a $100 or more depending on their rate. Or you can do it yorself by looking at the provided website below and get all the information you need to do it yourself at a fraction of the cost
need radio code for 2001 Mitsubishi Montero sport. Serial number J44mT21H91P001563. I replaced the battery which reset the radio. My email: [email protected]
Call your local MItsubishi dealership and ask for the service department. <BR>They have a computer program where they punch in the serial number from your radio (you have to supply the number) and it will tell them the UNLOCK CODE for your radio. My dealership offered to give it to me free over the phone, if I knew my radio serial number. Enter the code using the buttons on your radio. And write the code down, this will show up everytime your radio looses connection to its power source - the car battery.
Pull out the radio far enough to see the serial number and model number. Take that and the registration to the dealer who will give you the code you need.
