Err disc message on fisher price kid tough pink dvd player

Welcome to Fixya. If every disk shows you an error you can try to use a cd lens cleaner and see if it will fix the issue. If this does not work it only means that lens or the laser of the DVD is bad. In thast case you can check the warranty of the system so that you can have it check and repair for free.

I went to www.fisher-price.com/kidtough/ re-downloaded the software and installed/launched it but didn't get any updates. So I disconnected the player but left the Fisher-Price software running in the background and started doing other stuff. When I went to shut down my computer, I was about to shut down the Fisher-Price software when I noticed the message prompt "THERE IS AN UPDATE TO THE SOFTWARE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DOWNLOAD IT" I was so excited to see the prompt and I hit OK. It told me to connect the player to the computer before starting so I did and it automatically did an update. It appears to be working now! Sure hope this doesn't happen again!

First, I must ask a couple questions of you...

• When did you purchase this item?

If the date of purchase is within 1 year, you should call Fisher Price's customer service directly (1-800-747-8697). The number is toll-free and they are open everyday from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Central Time)
If you are, then call them... I know for a fact that in cases like these, they are normally very good with these issues, and will offer you a no hassle refund.

• Also, what is the exact issue are you having?

This is important for me to know, just because I have successfully repaired two of these devices. One repair was to fix the issue with failing to read the disc properly, and the other was a battery/power supply issue. If the problem you are having with this device does not match either of these, then please be quite detailed about the troubles you are having.

I'm not sure which light you are referring to but my daughters dvd player blinks on the side right by the brightness controls when it is charging.

Call fisher price and tell them and they will refund up to $150.00 without a receipt if you paid more then that then you have to have receipt showing that. All of the kid tough dvd players are breaking thats why they are not selling them anymore. I hope I was helpful.

Contact Fisher Price at 1-800-432-5437 and request a refund. They will mail you a refund check for the purchase amount if you are still within the one year warranty period. Make sure you have the original copy of your receipt. They will send you a USPS Delivery Confirmation via email with a special barcode. It will take approximately 4-6 weeks to receive your refund check. This seems like a pretty common problem. They didn't hesitate to offer a refund when I called. Hope this helps. By the way, you will be sending it to Mattel Returns, 636 Girard Ave, East Aurora, NY 14052-1824, make sure you get a delivery confirmation before you send your item back.
