The blade UPS (hp R5500XR) attached with the new w2k3 rack is showing AC led red and it’s blinking continuously. It has been more than 5 days since we installed the UPS but its battery charge level is showing 25% from the beginning
When the AC light flashes red it indicates that the input voltage is not within 12% of the nominal voltage. In this condition the batteries will not charge up correctly either. The solution is simply to change the nominal input voltage (ie. the voltage the UPS is expecting to receive). In our case we had an electrician check and confirm that our supply was 240VAC but we incorrectly assumed that since the UPS was supplied by HP in the UK that it would be set for 240V as well. Wrong, out the box it is set to 200-208VAC thus it was complaining about receiving the 240VAC. Enter configuration mode on the UPS by removing the front bezel and pressing and holding the configuration button until the front panel LEDs flash in unison and the configure mode LED illuminates solid green. This can be safely done while in operation mode. The LED for the currently configured nominal input voltage will illuminate in red. Press the ON button to advance the LED to the desired nominal voltage. Now press the Standby button to select the ne nominal voltage and tthe LED will turn green. Now press the Test/Alarm Reset button to exit configuration mode. The AC/Ultility light should now be solid green and the batteries will start to charge up completely.
