SOURCE: Bunn BT 10B -RANCID BUTTER in Resevoir!

Hi Tina - I'm no expert on melted butter in your coffee maker; but, I'd bet that the butter also got into the internal water tank where the water gets heated. Try going to the Bunn website: www.bunn.com , and click on their Customer Service link. You can either call their toll-free number or write to them with your problem from there.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Butter melted into top and down in to water container

mcdevito75 here, Try to clean your coffee maker by running a decanter full of white vinegar thru the system 2--3 times, then fesh water to rinse out the vinegar. Use a new or clean filter at the beginning of the vinegar treatment and after when you rinse with regular water.

SOURCE: RANCID BUTTER melted in Bunn Thermofresh resevoir vents!

There is one thing you can try first. With the machine filled with water and turned on, pour in 1 quart of white vinegar and let it sit in there for 2 hours. Then flush it back out with 8-10 carafes of water. If this doesn't correct the problem, then call customer service with the model and code date. This can be replaced under the warranty if it is under 3 years old or less. If it is over 3 years old, it can be replaced at a reduced price.

I had a stick of butter laying on top of my bunn coffee pot and some butter leaked through the vents. the coffee tasted terrible so i cleaned it with vinegar and ran about 10 pots of clear water through...

Believe it or not I had a customer once that left 6 pounds of butter on top of one of our brewers. They had it cleaned up on the outside so it took me a while to figure out what had happened but I could taste the rancid oils.
We ran about 20 pots of just water through it... make sure you let it heat back up before each one. I think the only thing vinegar might help with would be lime/calcium build up so I wouldn't think it helps this particular situation.
Good luck!

We spilled melted butter into the base that holds the kernals. Now we get black smoke when we plug it in. I tried running it on empty for awhile, but the smoke continues. Can we remove the top and clean...

you can open it but not from the top. unscrew the bottom and take out the heater and clean out the Popper without using any water or soap just a toothbrush and cloth. it will take more then one clean out to get it to stop smoking (took me 3 times). put it back together place a plate under it to catch butter and run it for 10 min. to get hidden butter to melt and seep out of hidden spaces then repeat cleaning.

No instructions but wanting to know where do you put in the butter for the back to basic stove top popper

The manual says, place butter in cup, hook cup onto the rim of the pan below the "butter cup"marking on the lid, and the butter will melt and drip evenly onto the popcorn as it pops. I haven't tried it; hope it works for you.

Lid will not close. Jams half way down

is there any build up any where aound the hinge? Rub a bit of butter on hinge then move lid up & down. this is kind of like oiling something but your using butter or margerine. I do this on the hinges of my doors when they start to squeek.

How much oil and popcorn do you need in the popper

single layer of popcorn on bottom of entire maker...no oil is needed but you can use a tablespoon if you like...butter melts through the hokes in lid....Place butter pats over top holes in lid before popping starts if you want butter to drip down on the corn ( it does pop better with a little oil!)
