Kenmore Freezer Alarm

The door to my freezer was left slightly ajar and now there is an alarm beeping every 4 seconds. I can't locate my user manual (of course). The sticker on the door says you can silence the alarm, but I can't find it's location! Where is it located, and is there a website where I can download a manual for future reference?

The freezer door ws left open overnight. Next morning, the alarm was beeping, and water is dripping out of the drain pipe. The food inside was 1/2 defrosted. We closed the door, hit the quick freeze button, and the temp went down but has not yet recovered - it is now the next morning, and the temp is holding at 20 degrees inside. What to do? The freezer is 10 yrs old.

My freezer alarm keeps beeping. The power in our home blinked off and right back on during a storm, and the alarm keeps going off. The freezes seems to be working fine but the beeper keeps going off. We pulled the 9 volt out of the right front access panel and that worked until the next storm, and now its beeping again. Is there another battery located somewhere else?
    Thanks
    Denny

Our kenmore freezer alarm started beeping during a quick power outage in a storm. The beeper kept going off even after pushing the silencing button. So we removed access panel and took the 9 volt battery out and this seemed to work, but the following week after another storm, the beeper started beeping again, even with the battery out. Is there a second battery somewhere?
The power is on and except for the beeping, the freezer seems to be working fine
    Thanks
    Denny

Had the same problem. Freezer beeping constantly. Couldn't be stopped, until I read the note here to replace the battery inside of the battery container at the bottom right front of the freezer. Merely removing the battery did not solve the problem. But putting in a fresh battery sure did!

You can take the batteries out that power the alarm system. They are located through a small access panel/door front bottom right of the unit. If you bought the unit at Sears, you should call 1-800-4MYHOME and ask a technician if a replacement manual is available, or if they can direct you to a website for it.

The battery was the problem in ours. It was doing the same thing. We went through a whole bunch of stuff trying to figure it out too since we bought it as a floor model only two weeks ago. It's just a 9 volt battery.

Upright freezer door was left ajar. The alarm keeps sounding, can you tell me where the reset button is located.

Hello Deena;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There is no reset for the alarm. The alarm goes off when you are not maintaining temperature.

During the time the door was ajar, warm air got into the freezer either icing up and locking the cooling fan or forming a block of ice on the cooling coils (Restricting cooling air flow.)

The best thing you can do, unless you want a $300.00 plus service call to defrost everything, is to turn power off to the freezer. Open the freezer door. Have plenty of old towels to soak up the water in the bottom of the freezer as it defrost.

You did not provide a model number which is located on the inside wall of the freezer. Every 8-10 hours your freezer will completely shout down for 20-30 minutes where only the light works and the defrost heater turns on. The ice build up is too much for the defrost heater to handle.

In some freezers the defrost mode is in the control board, in others it is a separate component that you can repeat trip using a flat head screw drive.

The door ajar alarm is on and will not go off mod #LFFH21F7HW6

Thank you for your post, friend!
Based off what you are describing it sounds like a possible issue within your control panel or door switch of your Frigidaire freezer, LFFH21F7HW6. You have completed a reset on your appliance by disconnecting power. I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional to properly diagnose and repair your freezer. Hope this is helpful. -Matt

How can i stop the door ajar alarm when door closed and off?

Hey friend, thank you for your post!

In order to stop the door ajar alarm from beeping when the door is closed you would need to reset the alarm. If you have done that and it continues to beep it could be an issue within the switch or panel of your Frigidaire freezer. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt

Freezer will Not Go Below 8 degrees and Alarm keeps sounding

Our manual says it can take our freezer up to 48 hours to get back to the correct temperature. I found that to be the case when we loaded it fully for the first time.
