Wow, no details
NO PC stated of 10,000 HP models 1984 to now. wow !
like eg: I have HV DV-6-1234us PC laptop, or what the service tag tells you what it is... it is....
what OS, windows what XP? VISTA, W7/8/10?
what password, name just one. where , when, what ,

BIOS password before windows login?
windows login ?
or if running windows 10 , the windows live email login fails>
details
your GS gave it to you or just a loan.???? details matter big time on complex computers.
If you now own this PC why not reload the OS, using the HP F11 recovery key, 2006 and newer, no pc stated so no exact answers are possible at all.

if its not your pc, then create your own account
only your GS can do that after HE logs in.
click control panel
click users
click add user, you.
end.

SOURCE: Windows Explorer Details View problems.

Usually, the view is determined by the type of files within the folder. For example, when you are in the My Music folder, the Details view gives you columns like "Artist" and "Album", etc, whereas the My Documents folder has the more generic "Name", "Size", etc.

However, if you right click upon any column header (that's where it says "Name" or whatever), a menu comes up that allows you to choose which columns are displayed. And once you change a particular folder to display, THAT folder will then display those columns until you remove them. But any other folder will default to back to the standard settings unless you manually change it yourself.

SOURCE: i forgot my password. i have changed it several

Re: the inability to use Windows etc. First make sure you logged on as an Administrator, if you're not change the permissions ( start->settings->Control Panel->User accounts, then make the changes needed).

As far as the lost password(s) visit www.magicaljellybean.com and download their key finder as you may need a key later on if you need to re-do major settings. Next head over to: http://www.loginrecovery.com and download the appropriate files to removable media if necessary, then run on your computer. If that doesn't recover the passwords check Tucows.com or Cnet.com for password recovery freeware.

Hope this helps.

How do i get my password

If you want to change a computer's sing-on password without actually knowing the original password, then today's your lucky day.

You don't need to be computer savvy to do this.
This is considering you know the ethics of privacy.

Please do not use this against anyone.
Okay, now that that's over with, here's how to change the sign-on password to a computer without knowing the original password...

Go to the start menu, then click on "run" (the command program).
Type in "cmd" (without the quotes).
Once the command window comes up type in: "net user"

After you type in "net user" it will list the user names of the computer.
You want to type in "net user" and the user name after it.

So if the username was Maya you would type in: net user maya.
After this it should say on the command window "you may change your password".

To change the password type in what you typed in the previous step but this time add the password to the end.
So if my password were abcd I would type in : net user maya abcd.
Change Administrator password using DOS Command
Use dos comand
The administrator account on a Windows machine is the main, root user name that gives full access to the machine.

Administrators should change this password frequently to avoid unauthorized access to the domain or desktop machine.

This can be done in the Windows Control Panel, or use the "net user" command in the Windows DOS prompt.

Log in to the machine using the administrator username and password.
You can also use an account that has administrator privileges on the domain or desktop computer.

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" or "Start Search" (depending on your version of Windows).

In the text box displayed, enter "cmd" and press the "OK" button.
This opens the command prompt window.

Type "net user administrator <new password>" into the command prompt.
Replace "<new password>" with the password you want to set.

Enter the password again for confirmation.
Once you enter it again, the administrator password has been changed.

Test the new password by rebooting the machine and logging in with the new administrator password.

There is a password on a computer it has xp how do i get by it so i can change the password

Is it your Own Computer? If yes then follow this steps but remember this steps only works of there is a password in User account but not in Administrator account.
Turn on the Computer, the place where it will ask the password there you Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE all together two times, you shuld press those key very fast, i mean once if you press those key then there shold not be time gape when you press next time.
After doing that successfully then it'll show you a small window where it'll ask you user name and password, in place of user name just type Administrator and leave the password place blank and hit the enter. if there is no pass word in your administrator account then it should open up and you can go to control panel--user accounts--chose the user account which has the password and select remove password. Restart the computer and this time it'll not ask you for password.

IF there is a password in Administrator account then you need to find some password removing tools.

My hp laptop was recently hacked which was one of the most horriblest things to experience. Some was remote logging onto my laptop. Is someone able to tell me if the person would have had to have had...

Do you have an ex husband or ex boyfriend that maybe knows your personal info and the passwords you would probably use? I mean they would know all the answers most likely to the secret questions such as "What is my mothers maiden name", "what city was my father born im", etc. I think this is coming from someone that is or was close to you.

Make sure you change the passwords from being so obvious. I would also change the secret questions too. For example: When asked "What is my mothers maiden name", If her real maiden name is Johnson, change it to some fictious name such as Obama. You've go to keep someone that knows the real answers out of your stuff.
Windows Firewall Turned On. and within Windows Firewall make sure you have Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop turned off (unchecked). Click Start/Control Panel/Windows Firewall make sure the firewall is on then click the Exceptions Tab and make sure the check is removed from the box next to Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop.

I doubt very seriously that this is someone out there randomly hacking into your computer. If you have a wireless network in the house Change the Password to the wireless network. Also change the password that allows you to log into the router. Most people leave the password that allows them to log into the router set at the manufacturers default. Change it, so that who ever knows you cannot sit outside your house and get into your router.

Make sure you don't have File Sharing set on any of your Files and Folders. Click Start/My Computer and open your local C drive by double clicking on it. If you see any folder that has a hand under it, that means that folder is being shared. Make sure you check your My Documents Folder. To get to the My Documents folder click Start/My Computer/Documents and Settings and you will see the users that have folders on the computer. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 click Start/My Computer/Users and you will see the users that have folders on the system. Look at the My Documents Fold and see if it is shared (has a hand under it). If it is shared, Right Click on it and select Properties then remove Sharing from the folder.

Also when you open My Computer look before you select the C Local Drive for Public or Shared Folders. If you see it open it and make sure non of your folders are in there, if so, remove them.

If the Itunes library is not yours that means someone knows your Itunes credentials, change your password and any questions that you have to answer to get the password reset.

Maybe a virus has hidden some of your folders because you mentioned that you are missing pictures. Right Click on My Pictures then select Properties and make sure that there is not a check in the hidden box.

Router's password could mean 2 things. First password for you to open router's configuration page or password for you to connect wireless to your router.

Configuration's password:
-Logon to your router configuration page
-Please to the TOOLS and ADMIN Tab. You there you can change the admin user name and password. If you do not have the user name and password, please check for the default user name and password on the router's manual. If default user name and password won't work reset the router. Press and hold down the reset button or pinhole on the back of the router for 10 seconds. Then re-enter user name and password again. It should work this time.

Wireless Security Password:
