Make sure your hard drive has higher priority in the boot options in BIOS. If it still doesn't boot then you will need to replace your hard drive. If it shows no hard drive in BIOS then the drive is most certainly bad and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: computer locks when starting

I cannot be sure, but I think that this problem has something to do with having "boot from network adapter" enabled in your BIOS. If this is not the problem, then it might be another malfunctioning device, in which case, you will want to go into BIOS and disable everything except for what you need to get through the restore process(Disable USB ports, network adapter, PCMCIA card slot, etc.)

Hi. I think the problem on this one is its either your Harddrive has already failed or your Optical Drive has a cd inside, so double check your Optical drive if there is a disc inside it. If not this issue is also with the operating system, you can try to restore your system by pressing the One Key recovery(OKR) button found beside the power button which has a logo of an arching arrow, but remember to plugin first the ac adapter on your laptop before pressing the One Key Recovery Button and also do not press the power button to turn on your computer because when you press the OKR button it will automatically turn on your computer and proceed with the recovery process. When it gives you some option you should choose One Key Recovery and then choose System Recovery, then factory default and from there it will guide you to the whole process of recovering your machine. If this doesnt fix the issue you could also try using the Recovery disc to restore your sytem t its original settings just like the OKR. Lastly you can contact the tech support dept. of Lenovo, they are open 24/7 and this the number to contact:
US/Canada: Available 24/7 1-877-4LENOVO (1-877-453-6686)
Australia: Available 24/7 1300-557-073
New Zealand: 9am-9pm Mon-Fri 0800-446-833. Hope this helps

change your boot priority. press power button then keep on tapping F1 key until your reached to setup utility. go to boot menu and set your boot priority 1 to your HDD. if compute wasnt able to detect your HDD . then there is a problem wth your HDD, you need to call you manufacturer for HDD replacement if unit is still under warranty

It goes to a network boot rather than booting straight to the HDD. restart your computer and press f2 immediatley. you are now on the BIOS page. check if your hard drive is detected and if not call Lenovo to have it replaced/repaired. if it is detected, after the PXE error, your computer should boot up just fine.

Hi,
It is your LAN driver which is creating problems.Download and install the necessary drivers for your Broadcom Netlink(if you have been given the "driver disc" with your laptop, use that to re-install the driver). If that doesn't work,I think your Broadcom Netlink is spoilt, get it repaired.
Thanks, C Rahul

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE FOUND,

You probably have a mbr virus.

Download The following iso listed below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner. It should fix you right up.

Wile I am trying to boot it up it goes in to a loop

Hello.

That error message usually refers to a hard disk failure. Your hard disk cable could be loose or faulty. Or, your hard drive would need to be replaced.

I'd suggest to check the cable and run your system's hardware diagnostics (often F2 or F12) when your system boots.

Hope this helps.
