Did you upgrade from Xp to Vista first ? First, you will want to BACKUP ALL of your programs. Since you did not upgrade to VISTA, you will LOOSE all of your programs when you upgrade to Windows 7, so be sure to backup all of your programs and files.
If you wish, you can use an external hard drive and a program called WINDOWS EASY TRANSFER to make this task easier.
See the link below for this FREE program. Now, for the fun part! Insert the Windows 7 disc into the computer and start or restart the computer. Follow the onscreen instructions to completely install Windows 7.
You will now need to reinstall each of your programs.
If you used Windows Easy Transfer, you can use the list of programs that it prints out to be certain that you reinstall all of your programs.

Basically the answer is no. The Javelin LC's come with 32MB of memory...the required amount of memory for XP and 2000 Pro are double that. 64 MB of memory total needed.
So without upgrading this PC which might not even be possible then you will have to use Windows 95.

First things first: You say that you only have 1 megabyte of ram. I think that you meant to say gigabyte. But if you do only have one mb, then you definitely need to get more ram. Secondly, press control+alt+delete and click the processes tab. Please say the number of processes running and the CPU Usage (they're counted and documented at the bottom left of the task manager window) in your reply. What anti-spyware checks did you run and have you checked your computer with an online scanner like kaspersky? Do you have any anti-virus (McAfee, Norton, AVG) software running? Close any unnecessary processes in the bottom right of your desktop screen on the toolbar (these icons are displayed next to your clock).
