Asrock ALiveNF6G-VSTA Motherboard. Unable to boot to OS

first disconnect ALL cables except power suppliy and frond panel switch. Startup and see if goes further.
dont forget to disconnect the front panel usb cables also !!!
if it goes better, connect he keyboard, reboot and enter bios to see.
etc etc

if it still hungs up at the start with all cables disconnected then a major chip on your motherboard is burnt (maybe the disk controller).

sorry i dont think a solution oher than buying a new motherboard.

AM2NF6G-VSTA: Contantly system powering off suddenly because of overheat

disconnect everything from M/board except for memory and video
this means hard drives cd dvd etc only leave memory and video connected
check your cpu heat sink for dust and fluff clogging it
then try to boot when you do check cpu fan working
If it still fails to start your motherboard is probably 90% buggered and you need a new one sorry for the news

SHOPPING

alfnold, I would get ddr2 5300 memory for your motherboard.
It is the fastest and cheapest around now.
Also, Get XP home. It will be around for 7 more years..
Windows ME is no longer supported and also a very bad OS.
