Open and remove the paper tray. Clean the paper sensor inside with a clean cloth. Return the paper tray.

Also ensure that the tray paper guides are working. Check by placing different size paper in the draw.

SOURCE: EP3050 error code C0040

A C0040 error code indicates a problem with the suction deck fan. It has nothing to do with the paper lift motors.

The fan is accessed by removing the rear cover of the copier. It is right in the center. These are readily available (p/n 9313-1310-61) although they are not cheap (around $200 retail).

SOURCE: Trying to convert paper tray one to run 11 X 17 paper.

Almost every machine I know (except many of the very newest models), there is either a dial, or a clip, or a setting on the control panel that you need to set to instruct the machine of the paper size. I'm not too familiar with Toshiba, but have a good look at the cassette (tray) - often at the very rear, there is probably something to set.
Hope this helps.

My minolta bizhub c6501 has a trouble code of c0203. How do I fix it?

Description
Intermittent C-0201 (C0201), C-0202 (C0202) and C-0203 (C0203)paper lift error codes.
Solution
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1.The trail edge paper guide (p/n A03U R756 00) may not be pressed against the paper. This will allow the paper to fall backwards and induce the error code.
Instruct the end user to check the position of the trail edge paper guide whenever paper is loaded into the paper tray.
2. Coupling for the tray lift for Tray 1, Tray 2 or Tray 3 is obstructed or out of alignment causing the tray to not lift.
Inspect the coupler in the back of the machine for paper preventing the pin from seating in the coupler. Check alignment when tray is inserted. If out of
alignment try to adjust the drive to properly align.

Paper type for 8.5 x 11 paper was reset to A4. I want it to be LTR. How do I change back?

I would start with the easiest solution, look to see if there is any paper jammed behind the paper tray. There are switches behind the paper tray for paper size. Also, make sure the paper tray guides are in the correct position against the paper in the tray, they tell the copier the paper size. Good Luck

T632 printer error : 34 short paper. What does that mean? Don't see 34 as a valid error code.

This error message means that the printer has determined that the length of the paper in the source specified on the second line of the display is too short to print the formatted data. For auto-size sensing trays, this error occurs if the guides are not in the correct position.

Please try to do the following

? Press Go to clear the message and continue printing. The printer does not automatically reprint the page that prompted the message.

? Make sure the Paper Size setting in the Paper Menu is correct for the size paper you are using. If MP Feeder Size is set to Universal, make sure your paper is large enough for the formatted data.

? Press Menu to open the Job Menu and cancel the current job. Please see also the media guidelines on the user manual p.29

Trying to change paper size from A4 to 8.5x11 on a Xerox Workcentre M123

  1. Pull out the paper tray.
  2. If necessary, slide the paper tray edge guides so that the guides are open.
    1. To adjust the side and rear guides, pinch the guide lever on each guide and slide the guides to their new position.
    2. To secure the guides in position, release the levers.
  3. Load the paper against the left-hand side of the paper tray. Paper can be loaded either short edge feed or long edge feed.
  4. If necessary, slide the paper edge guides so that they just touch the edge of the paper stack.

NOTE: When loading standard size paper, set the edge guides onto the notches on the paper tray to match the paper size.

  5. Close the paper tray.
  6. Set the machine to detect the paper size automatically, or manually specify the required size.

NOTE: Paper sizes detected by the machine vary depending on the Machine Administrator setting. See the Related Items below for additional information.

  7. If the type of paper has changed in the paper tray, then the paper type must be changed on the Control Panel as well. See the To modify the paper type on the Control Panel section below.
Normally just the guides need to be set correctly in the paper tray, The tray size sensing switched may be bad or the actuator on the tray may have slipped position.

Paper not feeding properly

Follow these steps to reload paper:

  1. Remove the paper and make sure it's not curled or wrinkled.

  2. Fan the stack to make sure the sheets are separated.

  3. Open the paper support and pull up the extension.

  4. Extend the output tray.

  5. Flip the feeder guard forward. Squeeze the edge guide and slide it left.

    pm_paperload_218_er.gif

  6. Insert paper, printable side up and short edge first, against the right side and beneath the tab.

    pm_paperload_219_er.gif

You can load up to 100 sheets of 20 lb plain paper or up to 20 sheets of photo paper.

  7. Slide the edge guide to the edge of the paper, but not too tightly.

    pm_paperload_220_er.gif

Follow these guidelines when loading paper:

    • Do not load paper above the arrow on the edge guide.

    • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

    • If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

    • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin.

    • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

    • Load the printable side face-up. It's often brighter or whiter than the other side.

    • Load letterhead or preprinted paper top edge first.

    • If you experience paper feeding problems, try loading fewer sheets.

    • If you're using special paper, check the package for special loading instructions.
Follow these steps to reload paper in the Automatic Document Feeder:

  1. Remove the paper and make sure it's not curled or wrinkled.

  2. Tap the originals on a flat surface to even the edges.

  3. Move the edge guides outward.

    pm_paperload_223_er.gif

  4. Insert the originals face-up. You can load up to 30 letter-size sheets at a time. If you load legal-size sheets, insert only 10 sheets at a time. Make sure the originals are not creased or folded and do not have tape, staples, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder.

    pm_paperload_224_er.gif

  5. Slide the edge guides against the originals.
