Dishwater fills with water, hot...but doesnt wash?

MDB7751AWS Maytag model will fill with water, heats up but does not go into WASHING stage? The water just sits there until its time to drain? Doesnt seem to want to cycle through? After filling up, the dishwasher does not circulate the water through into the spray hoses? Thanks for your help in advance.

When in the wash phase, listen for a low hum near the wash pump. if you hear this it indicates the wash pump capacitor is faulty or something jammed in the pump.after that you will have to access the wash pump and check if there is any supply to it

    Can the capacitor going bad cause it to work some times and then not work other times?

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...
You may have 2 defective parts.
First,make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same,the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin,replace the lid switch.
