The unit comes on using the power button as well as a remote and displays "Polariod" on scrfeen and then nothing else, no sound no picture?/

More than likely your power supply needs two electrolytic capacitors, 10MFD @ 450 WVDC. If you find the capacitors on the power module to the top of the metal enclosure inside the tv, they will probably appear to have swollen tops.
