Washing machine wont go from wash to the spin etc automatically

Hello, we had a brand new whirlpool AWG5122S washing machine delivered yesterday. It has been connected up correctly. Issue is when you program it to a setting eg cotton wash yesterday everything seemed fine until an hour in and we noticed it hadn't started the rinse or spin which we thought was odd?? I read the manual and it doesnt say anything about automatically going through the whole cycle so does this mean i will have to stop it and put in on a spin etc manually?? Surely a brand new Whirlpool would do this?? Would love to know if this is true or am i doing something wrong. Many thanks Alexa

Do not fool with this you will void the warranty, you have a defective machine, contact the manufacturer.

It is either a timer issue or a motor issue. I know, that you knew. But if you have a motor with like circuitry and size, you can try that or to put it into the spin cycle and see if it is a mechanical obstruction or with a voltmeter see if the timer is working.

SOURCE: Whirlpool AWM312/3 Front Loader Washing Machine - not spinning

I would recommend getting the service manual for your model as some models have clutches that control spin and others have belts. The service manual would be the best route if you are planning on repairing this yourself. If you would like the service manual let me know and I will post a link to where you can get one emailed to you.

SOURCE: Whirlpool LSR7133KQ0 no pumpout, rinse, or spin.

NO...the problem you are describing are the typical symptoms of a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch shuts the washer off when you open the lid while the drum is spinning. This is a safety feature to prevent injury from moving parts if you decide to add a garment or stick your hands in the tub for some reason while it is in operation. On some model Whirpool's the washer WILL work initially for the wash cycle, then stop when it gets to the rinse cycle. I would recommend you check your lid switch to make it is not loose or broken. Your washer is also equipped with a lid strike (a small plastic piece on the lid that activates the switch) make sure it is not broken off or missing. This will give the same symptoms of a broken lid switch.

If you require a replacement switch, they can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com, or you can go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. The part number for the switch is 3949247. The lid strike (if required) is part number 358684. If you need instructions on how to replace the lid switch, you can use this link if you like:

I don't know how savvy you are, so I thought I would add the instructions just in case. I hope you find all this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

What will cause my Whirlpool washing machine to set on low speed spin cycle?

The machine uses automatic load sensors to balance the load and when you put something in the machine that is big, like a comforter, it knows that it cannot balance that item. So with a front loader it wont spin at high speed because it would be off balance and either damage the machine or the machine would "walk" because of the off balance motion.

Why doesn't my new whirlpool cabrio washer not wash clothes? Just had this set delivered yesterday and it will not go into the wash cycle. Just keeps testing the lock.

The lock is enabled by a plastic tab on the lid. Did it break off? The tab goes in to a small slot on the front side of the top of the washer.
