Volvo dealer installed ipod kit; will not play ipod

I had an ipod kit dealer-installed in my volvo. One day the kit just stopped working; the ipod worked when disconnected. The dealer replaced the kit. In the last three months I've had two subsequent failures by the ipod kit. the ipod itself still plays when disconnected from the car. The last failure was a couple of days ago as I started the car with the ipod connected to the ipod kit cable. The dashboard display momentarily showed "CD FAIL" and then "INSERT CD". I've disconnected and re-connected the ipod but no change.

The radio is getting confuse ,remove the negative terminal for about 5 minutes and most likely it will solve the problem

you have a tinimg belt, you can get a kit from IPD VOLVO in OREGON or AUTOHAUZ AZ for hundreds less than the dealer and then take it into your volvo dealer and have them install it, IPD will have the origional volvo parts, you want to do this at 120,000 mi, and make sure, make certain!!! you change the water pump and the timing belt idler pulley, dont cheap out or your might DESTROY the motor!

I POD 60GB WAS PLAYING JUST FINE NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUST STOP PLAYING THE VOLUME BUT IT STILL DISPLAYS THE SONG NAME AND EVERYTHING ELSE

USA SPEC PA11-Vol unit will not play iPod using the iPod cable.

where did you plug this behind the radio ? or at the cd changer cable ?, the interface needs to be plug into the radio not the cd changer cable

Halfords Parrot kits integrate into the system all beit the steering wheel controls dont work. The audio is muted for incoming calls and the car speakers are utilised. Works well.

that`s not the reason.your Ipod have some problem with the firmware.connect your ipod to itunes and select reset.make sure you reset through itunes.you`ll lose songs on the ipod but it will work.

Headlight cover discoloration

I called Volvo North America and after several days of call-backs was told that the 'factory' plastic doesn't stand up to heat and washing. I replaced them both with aftermarket units and the $300 per headlight alone was worth it but after 4 years (I have a 2004 t-6) the aftermarkets are still clear, go figure. Got them from www.autopartswarehouse.com for $200 each (dealer qutoed $525 + labor). BTW they install with only two clips on the top, don't let a dealer charge you more than $50 to replace them.
