How do I set the IP address on my HP 8150

I know the port is good and I know the printer is working. I just printed out the configuration page.

I cannot ping the printer and I can't tell if the printer knows it's IP address. There doesn't seem to be an option on the menus on the printer.

Unfortunately browsing to the printers IP address does not work and there is no Protocol Information on the Configuration Page. Only the following

    Printer Information

    Memory

    Event Log

    Security

    Installed Personalities and Option

    Paper Trays and Options

1. Launch your web browser.
2. In the Address: or Go to: field, type the IP address assigned to the
printer (for example: http://192.168.1.1) or the host name (for example:
http://myprinter).
If you do not know the IP address for the printer, it is listed on the
printer configuration page under Protocol Information in the TCP/IP
section.
To print a configuration page:
a. On the printer control panel, press Menu until INFORMATION
MENU displays.
b. Press Item until PRINT CONFIGURATION displays.
c. Press Select to print the configuration page. After the process is
completed, the printer will return to the READY state.

From there, you can configure the printer using the web GUI. Consult the manual if you need at:
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/bpl10150/bpl10150.pdf

Hope this helps, and have a good weeked.

Try plugging it in to the network, then print a configuration page (after a minute or two).

HPlaserjet 2600n without IP

INSTALLING A NETWORK PRINTER These instructions generally apply to all network printers with built-in network cards (print servers) such as HP LaserJet printers, IBM Infoprint laser printers etc. This example is for a network HP LaserJet printer. To install a HP printer (with built-in Jetdirect print server) as a network printer on a wireless network . You need to do the following -
1. Open the printer\'s menu and enable the Network Card - these print servers use a static IP address therefore, configure the IP address of the network card so it matches the IP range of your network. Eg. If your IP\'s are 192.168.0.xxx then set the network card to a high number say 100. (This is to prevent a conflict with the router issuing the same IP address to a computer on your network). Then set the Subnet Mask IP address to 255.255.255.0 If you have a wireless router then check the IP address range that the router issues to the computers on your network and configure the static IP address in the printer\'s network configuration accordingly.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer with a LAN cable to the network hub/router.
4. Click on Printers and Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standard TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP\'s printer IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bi-directional support and then OK
9. Remove the printer cable, then do a test print to see if the printer prints correctly.
Install the HP printer driver on every computer on your network and configure the printer\'s TCP/IP port as previously detailed. Do a test print page to check the printer.
You can now print from any computer on your network.

Hi, I rested my HP 1022n Printer, now with old IP address its not printing, how can get my printer new IP address ? and please tell me how can take Test report of same printer, i tried pressing Green(go)...

Every network printer or print server has a unique IP address associated with it. This address is either configured manually or set using an automatic network protocol such as the boot protocol, reverse address resolution protocol or zeroconf. You can normally find the IP address of a printer on the printer's control panel or by printing the configuration page. Select the printers and faxes tab from the control panel. Right click on the printer those you want to find the IP address and click properties. Then click on the ports tab to display the IP address of your printer.

Trying to setup tcp/ip settings on my hp laserjet 8150 series printer

First, make sure your Network Interface is working properly. Print a test-page. Menu--->Information------->Print configuration-page. If your machine print only one page, your interface doesn't work right. If your machine prints a configpage and a seperate network-page, you're good to go.

The easiest way is to look at the network-page and see if the machine already got a ip-adress. If it already got a ip-adress (DHCP), type that adress into your favorite web browser and do your config from the machine's web-interface.

Or you can access the printers menu.
Menu---->I/U---->EIOx settings---->TCP/IP----> and set your settings as you wish. Good luck.

Cannot print with wirelessly networked printer

hi,

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.

Thank you so much.
