Don't know if your vacuum has a fuse in the power feed circuit. Most modern appliances do. If so, the fuse is shot. If not it's iether got a bad internal connection or the motor is fried. Also you mentioned a "reset". this sounds like a circuit breaker. Sometimes these breakers go bad and are replaceable.

While vacuuming, the sweeper shut off. Is there a reset? It wasn't hot and I've only had the sweeper less than a year. I had cleaned out the dirt before I started.

UNPLUG
Now check your cord to see if you have any breaks.
If you don't see anything then try feeling the cord for breaks.
Still can't find anything? Did you check both ends?
Does the cord look good going in to the Vacuum?
How's the plug look?
Have you tried pluging a lamp or something you know works in to the outlet you are useing? This will let you know if you just need to reset a breaker, switch or GFI. ( The Hoover Company Consumer Response Center at 1-800-944-9200 M-F 8 AM - 7 PM EST )

Wind Tunnel vacuum motor won't turn on

The fact that you wiggled the cord and it came on would seem to indicate a defective cord, either at the plug end or at the machine itself. Look again at where the cord enters the vac and at the wall. twist it slightly if you see a thin or collapsed area that is your problem.

While I was vacuuming it quit working..... I have tried everying can't get it to start up again...... just silence when I push the switch

Try pushing in on the power cord at the plug end while trying to start it. If the wiring has been broken there (common failure point), the unit may come on for a moment. If it does, cut off a couple of inches of the cord, and replace the plug with a replacement plug from the hardware store.

I was putting some bedding in a bag for storage and decided to ''**** it down with my dyson hose to fit it in a smaller space. My dyson quit working and now it will not turn on can you please help...??? I...

There is no other reset. The Dyson will cut out if it gets too hot, but resets itself when it cools. In doing the job you describe, I doubt that you have operated it long enough to cause overheating, or to do any other damage. I suspect the problem is only coincidentally related to the particular job you were doing. Sorry, but you will probably need professional hands-on help to solve this one.

Bissell won't start

no reset (self resetting motor) Pull the plu,g leave it off for a day, plug it in a try it again tomorrow. If it doesn't work, the motor is gone

You also need to make sur ethat you get the vacuum back together correctly, some vacums put a swithc in there so that you can't hurt yourself while performing this repair

Power nozzle don't work

I don't know which model you have or how old it is, but most models have a cord on the hose that plugs into a receptacle on the main machine. Sometimes they can look like they're plugged in when in fact they're just barely hanging there. You could also check the cord at the powerhead. Because the cord flexes with the motion of vacuuming, the cords can break inside. Wiggle the cord while the machine is running and if the cord is defective, the powerhead is start and stop. On some models, there is a switch on the hose handle to turn the nozzle off and on, and these are prone to failure. Also, there should be a reset on the top right hand side of the nozzle, but if this kicked out, it indicates a motor or electrical problem and should be addressed by a service person. If your powerhead has this reset, it's possible that the reset is sticking. Push it down a couple of times and see if that helps.

They just stopped working!

Hoover has a 1 year warranty on their vacuums, so the newer one will be under warranty. The other won't be. It could be bad switches, even tho they sound ok, they could still be bad, One side of the cord could be open, there is also a thermostat on the motors, it may have opened up, then of course could even be the motor. Just would have to be check over.
