Kenmore he4t softener won't dispense

The fabric softener and bleach will no longer dispense on my Kenmore HE4T front loading washer (approx. 6-7 years old). I have removed and cleaned all parts of the dispensing drawer system and all seem to be clean. I have checked pouring water directly into the dispensing drain and it flows right though. I have run a wire through that hole (which goes into the washer) and found no obstructions. I have tried various softeners and watering them down, in all cycles. I have even tried just putting water in the dispenser, and it also does not go down. Any other ideas?

SOURCE: kenmore front load washer soap dispenser does not

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Elite

Sounds like the lines are clogged.Soap and softener leave residue that over time will build up and clog the machine. It is not hard to fix but it does take a while.I would try very hot water first, just pour it down the dispenser. If that wont clear it.Take the cabinet apart and find the clog then remove it.The lines are transparent .Also while you are in there, look for a small electric motor, which pumps the bleach to the tub.If the lines are not clogged, replacement of that motor is the next step. Most probably it is just dirty.

Water is still in my liquid bleach dispenser after load is finished. is this normal?

If it is just water then it could be OK. Most companies use a water stream to flush the bleach and also the fabric softener out of the dispenser systems and into the washer tubs. Some water left over is probably normal as long as the bleach or fabric softener has dispensed.

How do you reverse the front door on a Kenmore HE4t washer?

The Kenmore HE4T washer does not have a reversible door. The matching dryer would have a reversible door.

Some newer washers do have a reversible door but it is still a very small number of washer that allow you to reverse the door.

You can not reverse the door on an HE4T washer.

Washer won't unlock flashes f14.....Kenmore Elite HE4t

F14 for Kenmore (Whirlpool) machines means EEPROM Error.

The Central Control Unit (CCU) receives it's data from an EEPROM on board the CCU, if there is an error reading this data, it will cause this error.

A power glitch may cause this error. Try unplugging the Unit for two minutes to see if that fixes the error. Check CCU. So its likely you'll need a new CCU board.

Check your owners manual, some models have up to a 5 year parts warranty on that CCU.

Kenmore front load washer will not dispense fabric softner

I've had this same problem and solved it by removing the detergent/bleach/softener dispenser drawer from the machine and seriously cleaning out all of the "gunk" from the drawer and from inside the drawer area on washer. Sometimes I have had to repeat the cleaning and then the fabric softener begins dispensing again. I have model # 417.43042200 but it may work on all the Kenmore front loading washers.

What is kenmore he4t button sequence for

If the washer does not come equipped with a "Clean" cycle, then run the washer on it's hottest setting. "Sanitary" or "Whitest Whites" will do. Hope this helps.

He4t - monthly bleach cleaning cycle

Washer Monthly Maintenance Procedure:
This cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of your washing machine.
  1. remove any clothing or items from washer
  2. CLOSE door (duh)
  3. open dispenser drawer and remove the detergent compartment and set aside. No laundry products will be added at this time. You will be required to add only liquid chlorine bleach at a later step.
  4. For Kenmore Elite HE products press a specific combo of buttons.
  • Select Rinse/Spin program
  • select low spin speed
  • select warm/cold water temp.
  • select 2nd rinse option
  • push the "end of cycle" signal button 4 times within 5 seconds to start the cycle
The machine will fill and run a short sensing cycle. This will take about 3 minutes.

Step 5
  1. The washer will provide 4 short tones. Check the: ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING display for the codes indicated below:
  • if "Ab" (add bleach) displayed in the estimated time remaining window (you'll hear 4 short tones) proceed to Step 6.
  • if "rL" (remove load) displayed in the Estimated Time Remaining window an error tone will sound. The door will unlock.
-open the door and remove the items from the washer.
-continue the cycle by pressing the START button.

NOTE: The water in the unit will dispense for a moment, then the door will unlock, lock again, and then the cycle will continue with another check for items in the washer.

The machine will fill and run a short cycle to determine whether any items have been left in the washer. This will take approx 3 minutes.

the washer will repeat Step 5 until it can determine that there are NO items n the washer and will display "Ab" (add bleach).
6. Add liquid chlorine bleach.
  • If using the maintenance procedure for the first time, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1 cup liquid chlorine bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.
  • If doing a monthly maintenance procedure, open the dispenser drawer and immediately add 1/3 cup bleach to the Main Wash detergent compartment. The liquid chlorine bleach should immediately flow out of the dispenser.

    NOTES:
  • Water will be flowing into the dispenser drawer when the bleach is added ... this is normal.
  • Do not add any detergent to this cleaning cycle. Use of more than 1 cup of bleachw ill cause product damage over time.
7. Once the cleaning cycle has begun, allow the cycle to complete. An est cycle time will appear on the display.

8. After the cleaning cycle is complete, leave the door open, clightly to allow for better ventilation and drying of washer interior.

9. Replace the detergent compartment divider.
