unable to purchase liquid detergent for front loader. Instructions say to only use front loading detergent in this top loading machine. I don't think they make it in liquid form. drain hose is at least 36 ins from floor level. In other words you can't help me.Buying this machine was a waste of time.

Ck drain hose end of drain hose should be at least 36 ins from floor also be sure drain hose fits loosely in drain water may be siphoning out resulting low water level to wash/rinse ..also recommend using liquid detergent dry doesn't dissolve good in cold water and even though it may be recommended for front load the lower water levels used may not be enough to dissolve it properly

most major brands have liquid for front loaders look for large HE in blue swirl on front of box don't know where you are located but tide, gain, all ,and several others sell the liquid type HE..HE are low suds detergents in fact we very seldom see any dry HE detergents in this area

When washing dark colors there is a soap residue left on clothes,i have tried using very small amounts of soap as well as different brands of soap

Try using white vinegar in place of liquid fabric softener. Half a cup at the rinse cycle in a full load will do it. Trust me, the smell of the vinegar will fade quickly as it works to break down the soap.

There are two other possibilities here:

You're overloading the washer with clothes - An overfull washer has the problem of not providing proper drainage before the spin cycle starts - Soap ends up getting embedded in clothes instead of being sucked out of the drain.

Or, You're using non-HE soap in an HE washer.

Hope that helps.

During the wash cycle the word "suds" began to flash on screen

you need to cut down on the amount of soap you are adding per wash, run an empty wash to purge any residual soap from the tub, then use less soap there after

Soap suds on the door at the end of a wash cycle. Miele E526

With all modern front loading washers, you might find that the amount of detergent you need is much less than what is recommended by the detergent makers!

First, be sure you're using the He (High Efficiency) detergent and try using only 2 or 3 tablespoons of detergent. If you've heavily stained clothes, be sure to pre-treat them rather than adding more detergent. That should also help with the extra soap left in the clothes after a complete wash cycle.

Give this a try and adjust the detergent as needed to get the best results for your situation.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regard!

Dark dirty spots on some clothing items appears on every load.

what you are seeing is suds getting back onto the clothes. make sure you are using HE type soap and not using too much of it.
if you are seeing suds inside the unit, when it is running, then it will "re-deposite" dirty soap residues back onto the clothes.
you need to run a rinse and spin cycle or even a heavy duty cycle with hot water to rinse out any soap that is left in the unit.
not a major problem, just use it differently and it will be ok.

There is an odor after the cloths are washed

You have a build up inside the washer. When it gets wet, it smells. When it dries out, the smell goes away. To solve this, first use 3 tables (one package) of AhFresh, or washer magic, or whirlaway, set washer on tub clean cycle if you have that cycle, or if not, use the hottest and longest cycle you have. Run cycle with no clothes. Now, to prevent this from reoccurring, make sure you use only ONE TABLESPOON of detergent or less per cycle, and only ONE TEASPOON of fabric softener per cycle if you use it. These washers use only a very small amount of water per cycle, and you must adjust additives accordingly to prevent odor and other problems. This is the number one problem people have with their front loading machines, and is 100% preventable! NOTE: You probably have soap residue left in your clothes. Try washing them with no soap once with to see if you get any suds in washer. You should see none if there isn't any remaining residue. Bath towels are usually just used to soak up clean water off your clean body. Don't use soap when you wash them. They don't need it.

LG WM2496HSM

Take a few of your washed towels and start washing them again with no soap or fabric softner. After the washer tumbles a couple minutes pause the machine. You should see no suds at all. I'll bet you see some suds. Suds now indicates there is soap residue in the machine and / or the fabrics. The soap residue in the fabrics is what is causing most of the odor and the poor cleaning. The problem is too much soap and / or fabric softner. Remember, the old top load washer you had before used about 40 to 45 gallons of water for an extra large load. Your LG uses about 12. First thing to do is clean the washer using a package (three tablets) of "Ah Fresh" washer cleaner, using the tub clean cycle if your model has it, or if it does not have that cycle, use the hottest, longest cycle, + stain setting option. Second, wash all the clothes again without using soap or fabric softener. Third, from now on, use a maximum of a tablespoon of HE (even less if it is 2x concentrated) soap and one teaspoon of fabric softener. Hint: If you rinse well before you towel off your towels are only wetted with clean water. They are not dirty. If you wash them, try washing with no soap.

"SUDS" mark on my washer

you NEED to use HE (high efficency )detergent. with this machine. you say you used regular soap.affresh is not a detegrent but a cleaning product for the washer not for your clothes but for the washer it self. theese pumps are real senstive to excessive suds generated by "regular" detergent. HE is low sudsing designed especially for the front loading machines
