Jam in top 3015d

Sir/Madam

Occasionally, media becomes jammed during a print job. An error in the software program and a jam message on the printer control panel display indicate a media jam. To prevent a jam, see the following instructions:
  • Only print on media that meets HP specifications.
  • Only print on media that is not wrinkled, folded, or damaged.
  • Make sure that the printer is clean.
  • Make sure that the input trays are loaded properly and are not too full. See the start guide for more information about loading input trays.
When adding new media, always remove all of the media from the input tray and straighten the stack of new media. This helps prevent multiple sheets of media from feeding through the printer at one time, which reduces media jams

Clearing a media jam

CAUTION: Media jams might result in loose toner on the page. Use cold water to wash toner off of clothes, as hot water will permanently set the toner into fabric. To remove toner from hands, wash hands in cold water.
CAUTION: Do not use a sharp object, such as a pencil or scissors, to remove jammed media.
NOTE: When clearing jams, including jams in the output bin, always push the print-cartridge-door release to open the top cover, and remove the print cartridge. Keep the top cover open and the cartridge out until the jam has been cleared. Opening the top cover and removing the print cartridge relieves tension on the printer rollers, which makes removing jammed pages easier.

Push the print-cartridge-door release and open the top cover.
Figure 1: Pushing release and opening top cover

Grasp the handle of the print cartridge and remove it. Set it aside.
Figure 2: Removing print cartridge

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the print cartridge, do not expose it to light any longer than necessary. Place the print cartridge in a paper bag or other opaque container until it can be placed back in the printer.

With both hands, grasp the side of the media that is most visible (this includes the middle), and carefully pull it free from the device.

Press the supporting springs, and close the top cover.
Open the media input tray and remove any media from the tray.

Slide the media guides inward as far as they will go. Press and hold down the tabs inside the media input tray, and slide the media input tray out of the printer.

Replace the input tray into the device.

After clearing the media jam, it may be necessary to shut down the printer, and then turn it on again.

NOTE: To add new media, remove all of the media from the input tray, straighten the stack of media after adding the new media, and then place the stack in the tray.
Clearing other media jams
CAUTION: Do not use a sharp object, such as a pencil or scissors, to remove jammed media.
If the media has jammed where it exits the printer, grasp the leading edge of the media and pull the media out through the output bin.
Figure 8: Removing jammed media from output bin

NOTE: If the printer is shut off before clearing the media jam, turn it on again, and then restart the printing or copying job.
Tips to avoid media jams
Make sure the automatic document feeder (ADF) media lever is in the correct position for the media being used. Slide it to the single-sheet setting (to the right) when scanning on thick media. Slide it to the multiple-sheet setting (to the left) when scanning on regular media.
Make sure that the input tray is not overfilled. The input tray capacity varies depending on the type of print media that is used.
Check that the input tray is securely in place.
Do not add print media into the input tray while the printer is printing.
Use only HP-recommended media types.
Do not let print media stack up in the output bin. The print media type and the amount of toner used affect the output bin capacity.
Check the power connection. Make sure that the power cord is firmly connected to both the device and the power supply box. Plug the power cord into a grounded AC power outlet.
Media jams occur in the automatic document feeder (ADF)

Occasionally, media becomes jammed during a copy, scan, or fax job.

A software error message indicates a media jam, and the Doc feeder jam Clear, Reload message appears on the printer control panel display to indicate a jam.
  • The ADF input tray is loaded incorrectly or is too full.
  • The media does not meet HP specifications.
Typical automatic document feeder (ADF) jam locations Input tray areas: If the page is sticking out of the input tray, try to remove it gently from the input tray without tearing the page.

  • Intermediate location: If the page is sticking out of the input tray and into the output area, see "To clear a media jam from the automatic document feeder (ADF)" below for instructions.

Automatic document feeder (ADF) media lever If a thick media is being used, slide the media lever to the single-sheet setting (to the right). Load a single sheet of media into the ADF.
When the copying, scanning, or faxing jobs are complete, slide the ADF media lever back to the multiple-sheet setting (to the left).

If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. Verify the paper tray is fully closed. 3. Inspect and/or replace the feed and separation rollers. 4. Ensure there is no obstruction in the path, such as a torn piece of paper. 5. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 6. Check sensors and flags for proper operation. 13.1 PAPER JAM OPEN INPUT TRAYS Paper-delay jam at paperfeed area. 1. Ensure that paper trays are loaded and adjusted properly so media can feed from the tray. It might be necessary to reduce the stack height of media in the tray. 2. Check the input area for obstructions such as media in the path. Also check to see if the registration assembly damaged or unseated. 3. Replace any defective sensors or flags. 4. Verify the media meets the specifications. 5. Check the pickup feed and separation rollers for unusual wear. Replace as needed. 6. Rotate the media in the input tray by 180° and/or turn it over On NX engines this is most likely the fuser flag or the ACPM. Cant send nor receive faxes

dear sir, kindly follow the below instructions
Instructions
  1. Ensure that all cables are securely connected. First, make sure that the printer cable connecting your computer to your printer is connected securely. Then, make sure that the power cord is inserted into a wall outlet. Try your print job again after you have ensured that all cables are properly connected.

  2. Clear a paper jam if your printer is not responding or you are receiving a "Paper Jam" error message on your printer. To clear a jam, first open the rear output door by pushing down on the two levers on each side of the door. Opening the rear door simply makes it easier to clear a jam. Open the top cover on the front of the printer by pressing the release button on the right side of the printer. Locate the paper jam and use two hands to gently remove the paper jam. Try your print, scan, fax or copy job again.

  3. Clear stored or saved faxes if you are having trouble sending or receiving faxes. Old faxes may be stuck in the fax queue, which may be causing the printer to not respond. To remove stored faxes, press the "Menu" button on the printer and select "Fax Functions." Then select "Clear Saved Faxes." Wait for the queue to clear and try your fax job again.

  4. Remove paper from the automatic document feeder (ADF) input tray if your scan job is coming out crooked. The ADF input tray can only hold up to 50 sheets at a time. If there are more than 50 sheets in the input tray, the output may appear skewed. Try your scan job again after removing the paper.

  5. Adjust your computer monitor's display settings if your scanned image is not an accurate representation of the original image. This can be done in the "Control Panel" in Windows. Set the settings to the highest possible resolution and try your scan job again.

  6. Perform a power cycle on your printer if the previous steps were unsuccessful. To do this, turn off your printer, then unplug it from the wall. Wait a few minutes and plug the printer back in. Try your print, scan, fax or copy job again.

take care..thank you
