Need code for apex tv/dvd combo to program remote

http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/apex_help.shtml

To program the Apex DVD player on your Radio Shack or One For All remote, there are several steps involved. Basically you will be using the TV device code 0030 and re-mapping all the buttons. There's several steps to get wrong so I will include lots of error checking so that if you make a mistake you will know where you went wrong. Before you start, you should print off the advanced codes.PLEASE NOTE:This will only work for the AD600A model. There isn't a code in any of the current OFA/RS remotes for the newer models (ie, AD500A, AD660A, AD703A, AD800A, etc)
1. Confirm that you have TV code 0030 on your remote.
(Every remote has this code, I am including this step just for your piece of mind, by all means skip it and come back to it if you have problems).
a. Turn on your DVD player and have is displaying on the TV.
b. Press the TV button.
c. Press and hold the SETUP button (the green P button on R/S remotes), wait for two flashes.
d. Type 0030 and wait for two flashes.
e. Press the POWER button, you should see the VOLUME indicator display on the TV screen.
You have now confirmed that you have the TV code 0030.
2. Re-assign the DVD button.
(On the Cinema 7 remote you will probably want to use the DVD button, on the R/S remotes you might want to chose the AUX2 button. In this example when I refer to the DVD button, I am referring to whichever device key you have selected to control your DVD player).

a. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for the two flashes.
b. Type 992, wait for the two flashes.
c. Press the TV button, followed by the DVD (or AUX2) button. Two flashes.
You have now re-assigned your DVD button to be a TV button, this is so we can enter the TV device code.
3. Assign the TV/0030 code.

a. Press the DVD (or AUX2) button.
b. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for two flashes.
c. Type 0030 and wait for two flashes.
e. Press the POWER button, you should see the VOLUME indicator display on the TV screen.
You have programmed the DVD button to TV code 0030.
4. Program the function buttons.
(You will have to program every button that you intend to use. Don't waste memory by coding buttons that you will rarely, if ever, actually use. If you don't think you will use the numeric keys, for example, don't program them. If you intend to use the volume controls from your TV or amplifier, don't program the volume controls).
I will walk you though setting the POWER button.

a. Press the DVD (or AUX2) button.
b. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for two flashes.
c. Type 994, wait for the two flashes.
d. Press and release the SETUP button. (Don't hold it this time).
e. Type 052 (this is the code for POWER).
f. Press the POWER button, wait for the two flashes.
g. Press the POWER button, your DVD player should turn off.
You have now programmed the POWER button. Repeat the steps above for all the buttons that you want to program.
5. Resetting the DVD device.
In order for "volume punch through" to work, you will need to reset the DVD device button to be a DVD button again. This is only an issue for the Cinema 7, because "volume punch through" only works on the original VCR and CBL buttons on the 15-1994, and even then it will only work with the TV's volume).

a. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for the two flashes.
b. Type 992, wait for the two flashes.
c. Press the DVD button twice. Two flashes.
You have now reset the DVD button.
6. Setting up the volume controls.
You have several choices with the volume controls. You can program them with the APEX codes, which will invoke the DVD players volume controls, you can use "volume punch through", or you can manually set the volume controls to operate the device of your choice. In this example I will assume that you want to use your stereo equipments volume controls and that the stereo is programmed to the CD device button. Please replace the CD button with the TV button in this example if you want to use your TV's volume.

a. Press the DVD (or AUX2) button.
b. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for two flashes.
c. Type 994, wait for the two flashes.
d. Press the CD button, followed by two presses of the VOL UP button.
e. Wait for two flashes.
You have now programmed the DVD's volume up button to control the CD's volume up function. Repeat these steps for the volume down and mute buttons.
7. Setting up a Loophole Menu macro button.
If you have the version of the Apex that has the "Loopholes Menu", then you might want to set up a button to take you right there. It saves having to remember the secret steps. In this example I am going to put the macro on the "S4" button, but you can put it on any button you like, just remember that it will be in effect under all devices.

a. Press the DVD (or AUX2) button.
b. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for two flashes.
c. Type 995, wait for the two flashes.
d. Press the S4 button (or the button of your choice).
e. Press the following buttons in this order (the button names in paranthesis are the buttons that I suggested these Apex functions be assigned to):
STOP, STOP, SETUP (Program), STEP (Move), PREV TRK (CH Down), NEXT TRK (CH Up)
f. Press and hold the SETUP button, wait for two flashes.
It is important to hold the SETUP key until you see the two flashes in the last step. If you release it too soon, the remote will assume that you want the SETUP button to be part of the macro, which will cause some un-expected results when you try using the macro.
Hopefully you have now successfully programmed your remote to handle your Apex DVD player, now you can enjoy movies from all over the world. if you haven't already visited the un-official Apex head quarters, here's the address: www.nerd-out.com/apex.

I have a sanyo tv with a built in dvd player and I'm trying to find a review that operates both components. I have purchased several universal remotes. They all work on the tv but in the dvd player. What...

You should set-it up with its setup codes, for both TV and DVD separately. There will be different codes for each one. Check it out, and set it up. No universal remote control will work for both TV & DVD with the same setup code.
If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common codes used for devices too are given, in the order of device brand name list in alphabetical order. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device, at its search box, and press "Enter". Or, pull up older posts.

NEED TO ADD CODE TO URC REMOTE

Try these instructions and see if they work for your genie remote.

First, have your Genie Mini receiver connected and powered on. Next, grab your RC71 remote and simultaneously hold the "MUTE" + "ENTER" buttons until you see a box appear on your TV screen that says "Applying IR/RF Setup. Please Wait" (this appears after about 5 seconds of holding those buttons). Once complete another dialog box will appear and read, "Your remote is now setup for RF." Click "SELECT" to exit that screen. Next, click the "MENU" button, scroll down to "Settings & Help", then click on "Settings", scroll down to and click on "Remote Control", then click "Program Remote". Next you will have two options, either "Program TV" or "Program Audio Device". Click "Program TV", this takes you to a screen where you need to select what BRAND your TV is. After you have selected your TV brand you will have to select the TV Model ( I recommend looking at the sticker on the back of your TV for the accurate Model number or using your current TV remote to find the model number from the menu screen on your TV for fastest and best results). Once the correct model number is selected, AIM your RC71 remote at the TV and it will AUTOMATICALLY program!

RX-V465 Yamaha Reciver we can get picture but no sound w/PS3

Check HDMI Sound settings:
Enter Setup menu via remote, then Func. Setup / HDMI / Audio. You can choose from Amp (sound will be played via Yamaha), TV (sound will go straight via HDMI out to your TV and not play on Yamaha) and Amp+TV (Yamaha will play the sound and also pass it to the TV).
Also what is your source? DVD or some network player? For example Yamaha cannot decode audio in AAC or other computer formats, so be sure to change the audio settings of your player to output PCM and not raw/bitstream.

Samsung tv

Channel-programming is usually done in the TV's setup menu. Some universal remotes don't have the Menu or Setup key required to get into the TV's menu, so check the TV itself to see if there is a Menu or Setup button.

Once you get into the menu, look for an "Auto Program" or "Program Channels" setting.

Remote control

I used a GE Universal remote. The package has number 24921 and the instruction manual says it's a RM24912. Anyway, this model will control pretty much all aspects of this tv combo assuming we are talking about the KLH KDT133UY tv/dvd.

What you need to do is program the tv button on the remote to code 0029 which is a KONKA code. The real maker of KLH electronics. Then set the dvd/vcr button to code 0905. Now in order to access the tv menu, press the tv button then press the shift button which is the setup button. Then press the INFO button for menu. SHIFT, MENU, OK, and EXIT are printed with a black backgroung on the remote. Hince you need to press shift.

Took a while to figure it out, but here you go. Good Luck!
