Hi, couple of months ago both of my remote controls, the one that came with the TV and my DISH network remote control (programmed to work with my TV) have stopped working. Once in a while they will work but in most cases they will not. I have precluded that this is not a remote control problem, because both of them exibit the same problem, so it has to be a TV problem. I have replaced batteries in both, took them apart and cleaned them up to no affect. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I have even turned all of my equipment off in the living room and just left the TV on, still no result. Satellite remote control functions work, but not the TV ones. Please help, this is really annyoing me now.
If you're sure the proper codes have not been lost in both your remotes, then possibly the IR receciver in you TV has gone bad. Stargazer

I have the exact same problem. It is not a remote or IR window needing cleaning problem. Unplugging the set for a period of time or manually toggling the set power button a few times seems to reset the problem for a while. Also the programming lang keeps changing itself to a foreign lang. It is definitely a software/firmware problem. How to download and "reflash" the firmware could be helpful.
I have the same problem ,my verizon fios remote stopped controlling TV (toshiba 32AF42 32" TV)I CHANGED batteries and went thru all the codes 'ABOUT 40 of them".But nothing worked! This after working fine for over a year,with verizon remote,since Ive had verizon.It sounds like I have the same problem! HOW DO YOU GET TO THAT LITTLE BOX ,TO GET TO THE LITTLE LIGHT???
I can not get my verizon FIOS remote to operate my TV(32AF42)?There is about 40 codes,but none of them work.What is puzzuling is that they worked fine since June of 2008,when I got Verizon FIOS.What can I do?
the power indicator is green but once I turn on my TV using the remote control or even the power buttons on the TV, I just have a black display
