Remote won't turn on satellite

Press menu on the receiver. You should be able to see the remote address for the receiver. It will typically be set to 1 if it reset somehow but whatever the case make note of this number. Take the remote and hold the SAT button until all lights across the top illuminate. Now key in the two digit address - single digit numbers are preceded by a 0. Now press the pound sign in the lower right of the remote and observe that the SAT button flashes thrice. Now press the record button a few time to ensure it is locked. Now try exiting the menu screen with the remote.

If this does not work check the antenna on the back of the receiver and put it in the full vertical position and try again. If this fails you may need a new remote.
Thanks for using for using Fix Ya.
Ihope this resolves your issue.

Control wont change to other channels just back and forth to 2 channels

Asusi91,Make sure the correct remote is being used for the TV in the room. To check the remote take it to your TV1 location and access the system information screen. There may be a "Sys Info" button on the front of the receiver, or you can press "Power" on the receiver then the "Up" arrow.Once there pickup the remote that isn't working and press record three times. If a number changes on the bottom of the screen, try the remote and see if it's working. I would also recommend replacing the batteries just in case. If it continues, let me know here and we can see about getting a replacement out to you!Tommy FaustDISH Social Media Representative

Need a remote code or how yal do the proves ing to

Hey djeremyc87,

I can definitely assist you in programming the remote to the TV. I was unable to find any codes specific to a TCL TV, though to program the remote we can preform what's called a Power Scan. I have listed the steps below.

Power Scan to TV:

1.) With the TV on, press and hold the TV button (about six seconds) on top of the remote until all mode button backlights come on, then release.
2.) Press and release the red power button, then press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the TV. If the code for the TV comes up, it will power off.
3.) Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment.

That will allow you to program the remote to the TV. If you have any additional questions/concerns you can post here or reach me at [email protected]

What channels are you able to receive? When you press the Select button on DISH remote, which light on the top of the remote lights up? The Sat button should light up when you are in satellite mode. If any other button lights up, press and release the Sat button and then try changing channels. If this doesn't work, we may need to troubleshoot with you. Please call us on 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. I hope this helps.

I can't change any chanel with my remore control

Wewould be happy to help you with that. The first thing we want to check is ifthe issue is affecting multiple buttons on the remote. If you are having theissue with specific buttons then the remote needs to be replaced, give us acall at 1-800-333-DISH (3474). Check if you are using the correct remote forthe correct room, there may be a number on the bottom of the remote that tellsyou which room the remote should be in. If the remote uses UHF signals checkthat your UHF remote antenna is securely connected to the "RemoteAntenna" port on the back of your receiver and that the antenna isupright. At this point we want to re-address your remote, if issue is with theTV2 remote, bring your TV2 remote with you to TV1. Access "SystemInformation" at TV1 by either pressing the menu button 2 timesor but pressing the "System Information" button on the frontof the receiver.Using the remote that is NOT functioning, press andrelease the "SAT" button then press and release the RECORD buttonon remote control. If the batteries in the remote have not been replaced in thepast 60 days, replace the batteries. Reset the receiver by unplugging it for 10seconds then plug it back in then re-address the remote again. If the remote isstill not working at this point then it may be an interference issue. If youare having issues with an infrared remote, find interference source (backlighting or power save mode on LCD TV's, fluorescent lighting in room, ordirect sunlight), eliminate, or convert remote to UHF. If you are having issueswith an UHF remote, find interference source (component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.)near DISH receiver), adjust UHF antenna, or distance UHF antenna from receiverusing coax cable/barrel connector. If the remote is still not working after allthese steps we need to have your remote replaced.

We really hope all these steps resolve your remote issue. Thank you for being avalued DISH Network customer!

This may be caused by the incorrect code being used for the TV. Normally we could provide the codes for the remote based on the brand of the TV we're trying to address it to. Please visit this page for all the code for the remote categories by the brand of the TV:

My tv remote will not allow me to access the satellite

walk_alan,

Are you still having problems with your DISH Network remote? Which light on the remote lights up when you press the select button? If any button besides the SAT button, the remote is not in SAT MODE. Pressing and releasing the SAT button will put the remote in SAT MODE.

If the remote is in SAT MODE and doesn't operate the receive, then the remote may need to be readdressed to the receiver or the remote may need to be replaced. Do you have fresh batteries in the remote? If so, I have provided steps on readdressing the remote to the receiver.

Remote: All Other Remotes
  1. Go to System Info screen(depending on the receiver, you can press the "System Info" button, or pull the smart card out from the receiver till the "System Info" screen appears on the TV)
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.
I hope this helps.

Take TV2 remote, press and release the "SAT" button, on the top left corner of remote. The press the "Record" button 3 times. Hello, Matt with DISH Network here. If the remote is still not working, open the door on the front of the receiver and press the "System Info" button one time. When system info is on your screen, on the remote press the "SAT" button one time, and then press the "record" button three times. Try pressing select to see if it is now working. You can also try to hard reset your receiver. To perform a hard reset, you unplug the receiver from its power outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in.
